Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Howdy, all. As my DH and I consider options to purchasing a 5th wheel, a question that's come up is whether it might make sense to visit an RV show with the intent of buying a new (or late model) unit offered as a show special. We've done a lot of research and have a pretty clear idea of what we're looking fo...
Recently I have noticed a sneaky new trend to squeeze in more commercials. This seems to happen on History, Discovery and other "documentary" type channels. The show will begin and the normal string of commercial breaks will occur. Around 20 minutes into the show the commercial brea...
I am not a new member of this forum but not sure if I ever introduced myself since we didn't have an RV. My wife and I just bought a 2013 Forest River Surveyor Select 32' in Sept. This is a tow behind and we also bought a 2012 Toyota Tundra 5.7 L V8 to pull it with. It has the full tow package. We have had the tr...
Is their one system or maping device that shows all rest stops, campgrounds, stores, truck stops for gas, restrauants etc? I'm looking at microstoft steet & trip maps Its a challenge to learn.
Does anyone have any experience with the Microhearth Cookware Set? Our current travel trailer home does not have either a regular oven or a convection oven and I'm looking for some ways to expand my cooking options, especially as it gets cooler and more challenging to use the grill. The reviews see...
Hey Guys, Well ever since the Hershey show I have been looking for a rig with a little more room for extended living. I currently have a toyhauler about 40ft total length, but 12ft I lose to garage area. I have been looking at a 2008 Carriage Carr-lite 36 Max 3 slide full wall. Total length 36f...
Does anyone have an opinion on towing a Snow Ville 35+2? We have a family friend that is selling one and we're not too sure about that extra 2 ft in front of the hitch pin. Thanks for any comments or info.. Ann
In looking at options for establishing residency (for the purpose of purchasing and registering an RV), one of the considerations mentioned is the prospect of being called for jury duty. Choosing to "reside" in, say, South Dakota would have certain benefits with respect to RV owne...
This is a simple question. I just noticd something inside one of the AC ducts on the ceiling and want to remove the vent/duct cover to get it out. The vest is round with loverers and had 3 notches on the rim. These notches look to be what I need to push/pull/bend or some such thing to remove them. I don't...
Hi, Phil and I learned so much at the Harrisburg rally (remember...."her thyroid meds" answer?). Still laughing over that one ! We want to come to the Quartzsite rally (if we can make it there from Oregon in feb.). But I would just like to throw a spectacular Oregon possibility out there for...
Other forums that I am part of have this option, but I haven't found it here. When I click to see the most recent posts, I often see threads that I have started reading. However, I have to start at the beginning and scroll all the way through in order to see where I left off. That gets cumbersome when there ar...
I'm thinking a lot about what clothes I'll need, shoes are going to be a big issue for me as will be polartec, sweatshirts, winter wear in general. I'm very cold-natured, yet I prefer to visit cool climates, so I always struggle to stay warm. I have long underwear in every weight and configuation you...
They're on sale now. Just wondering pros and cons. Definitely would keep the roof cleaner! But what about mildew forming? I live in NH and want to keep the snow-sap-twigs and other debris off. But I would rather scrub my roof than have mildew. Thanks...........
I bought a Sears model like you and others have. Went to add to tires today after sitting all summer and getting ready to head south..The mobile suites needs 125lbs,and i can't seem to get the needed pressure. It just does nothing.. It worked fine topping up the truck to 80lbs. Any suggestions would be h...
The other day I did a quick video on the new iPhone 5 to show exactly how well the Sleek 4G-V works to boost connectivity. I've been using one in my car since launch and I've found I rarely end up without signal! Checkout the video here - [url=http://youtu.be/zL4h9d3ykq0]iPhone 5 Signal Boosting on Ver...
Hello folks... first post and hope it lands correctly. Just back to the good 'ol USofA after a long vacation in C/America and decided to try something I've had on my radar for a long time. Will be purchasing a used 5th wheel within a week and looking for some advise. Have been eyeballing this forum/site f...
Couple of questions since we're still relatively new to this fulltiming thing. First, the lever on the auto regulator points to the 'in use' tank and the green/yellow/red indicator on the regulator is for the 'in use' tank, right? Our New Horizons came with the lever pointing towards the outboard ta...
With about 30% of all park WiFi's that we are connected to, we can only receive emails, but not send them. Our incoming server type is POP3, outgoing SMPT. We use Outlook as browser. Obviously there is some kind of conflict with park WiFi settings, but what could it be? Maybe the internet port? Does an...
We will be starting out in mid November, leaving from upstate NY. Our question is- since the campgrounds in the North will be closed, how much water should we carry & where can we get more while traveling south? Looks like we will be stopping in truck stops or Walmarts until we get far enough sout...
My Maxxis M8008 ST Radial Trailer Tires have been replaced! Just goes to show that properly maintained tires will last for many miles and years. The Maxxis tires were 12 years old and still had plenty of tread left on them, the rubber wasn't cracked and there were no out of round, balance, or belt sep...
The Leaves are changing and snow is comming.........That means most of the weekend warriors that overbought to go camping for 2 weekends this summer are liquidating........Alot of nice deals in NH and maine away from the metro areas...... if your looking and need a heads up as I find them let me know a...
I have traded in our 2000 Ford F550 for a 2008 Ford F450 4 X 4 with the 4:88 rear-end. The only option it does not have is a moon roof. Needless to say, I know the 2008 F450's have had reported problems with the cooling system, but I am hoping I will not have some of the problems I have read about. And in the even...
After a little over 3 years of researching, 2 rallies, and lots of mentoring by Howard, Linda, and many RV dreamers, we are finally ready! Tomorrow, Oct. 1 we are setting sail on our full-time life. We will make our way from Pennsylvania to South Dakota to obtain our driver's licenses. Along the way we w...
Hi to all, Pete and I have a toy hauler and been doing some traveling the last year. We are both retired and could not go for to long do to the fact that his mother had lived with us. Did something happen to Mac the Fire Guy? www.macthefireguy.com just gives me a "site under construction" error page and google doesn't give me a new/better url for him. I was there a month or so ago and tried to go back today to order some extinguishers.
Hello RV Dreams family~ We just purchased a 36' Fleetwood Terra today! We put our house on the market and plan on "Full Timing" as soon as it sells. I am excited but also scared! This is new to us in every aspect. So I am sure I will have maaaany questions:). We are both 40 and I am leaving an excel...
A few months ago, I read a thread in these forums in which someone linked to a nice looking LED replacement fixture for the 18" Thin-Lites. I knew I should have bookmarked it, and alas, I'm not finding it by searching the forums. As the last spare florouscent bults that came with our bus conversi...

Thomas Fanelli, owner and president of Progressive Industries is absolutely terrific! We moved into our new 2011 Big Horn this week. We are staying at a great park, Spring Hill, in Chapel Hill, NC. We set up on Monday, and moved in on Tuesday. Wednesday we went back to the apartment to clean and cle...
