Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
OK,,, I think I’m ready to go now!!! If we were sitting at a restaurant and I was at this stage I would be hitting Diane on the leg under the table LOL!! That’s my sign for I can’t sit any more and have to move!!! LOL!!! It’s been fun talking about doing the fulltime RV thing for years,, and planning what it wou...
I'm not interested in starting a brand war here. Rather, I'm interested in some real-world experience from those of you who have owned both. Here's the situation. We've pretty well narrowed our choices down to mid-90's Foretravels or late 80's 'Birds. A BMC would be great, but probably out of our bud...
Hi All, Just happened on this website while looking for RV Park reviews. Lots of interesting information. Hubby retired in February 2012 and we had our house sold and were on the road by March 1, 2012. First trip took us to Arizona and California and then back up to Canada. We stayed in Calgary for 5 wee...
I know most people suggest not to purchase the extended warranty, however my husband nor I know much about working on a 5th wheel. That being said we are purchasing the extended warranty. My question is, if people are using the USAA extended warranty and please share their experiences. We have USAA fo...
I have my 2011 Cameo for sale on the Carriage Forum. I have received an inquiry from RV Wholesalers Inc in Alberta,BC. The guy seemed on the up and up, website checks out, etc. He said that he would wire the money to my bank and would not take possession for at least two weeks to assure that all finances an...
Since I only post on RV Forums and have no where else to put this rant, I decided to add it here. It's the type of topic we would discuss sitting around the campfire with a group of friends. What's with these women having botox injections in their lips ? I haven't seen one yet where her lips didn't look rea...
Living FT in a limited space and needing to stay "portable" how do you condense your kids toys and hobbies. I have an 18 month old and just his highchair which is a small portable version and the playpen that he sleeps in takes up a lot of room. And I have to carry 3 times the amount of clothes f...
For the purposes of this website, ROADWORKING, an independent traveler is one who travels at least part time and often full time. They may be entrepreneurial souls, working from their laptops or out of a tent, or the recently retired looking to travel more frugally than before. They are people with W...
After attending the Rally I have decided I have been overlooking a couple important items we need to get before hitting the road in Nov. One being a tire monitoring system. And it seems the Pressure Pro is highly thought of. I didn't ask anyone where they bought them figuring I would just find it on Ami...

Yesterday as I was hauling the 5th wheel back home from Chula Vista I heard on the radio there was a fatal accident about half way between where I was and home. In California it usually takes about 4 hours for a fatal accident investigation to complete. The report indicated the coroner had not arrived...

OK, got a couple of questions on our F450 and the manual isn't much help. We'll have about 6000 miles on the truck when we pass back near our buying dealer in a couple of weeks and I am considering whether to go ahead and have our initial service while we're there. The manual suggests an oil change interva...

I've read a lot of the discussions and opinions that if you are starting out today, that satellite might not be worth the investment. As cellular technolog continues to progress, satellite doesn't seem to be needed as much. We currently have the Max Signal products set up to boost our cellular / int...
We recently replaced the slide awning fabric on our “small” bedroom slide and I was wondering how many other people do the work themselves?(The slide awning do not have near the tension the large shade awning on the side of RVs have, so there is little risk of getting a finger hurt.)The slide awning is...
My iphone died and appeared not to charge and would not turn on. I searched the internet and found a reset process, it worked. If you experience what appears to be a dead iphone or ipad try this: 1. Plug the device into a good charging cord 2. Push the On/Off button and Home button (screen change) at th...
Some opinions on the use of scissor jack to level a 31' Class C RV max 14,500 lbs, E-450 These jacks now can hold up to 7,000 lbs each - so 2 on the back and 2 on the front I would think would be more than enough.I'm concerned about the road clearance - it looks like in the front it would be just shy of 6 inches from...
Since we had other business in the area, we decided to accept Camping World's invitation to visit their big shindig with manufacturer's reps and free hot dogs. We looked at many of the units they had available, and talked to one salesman and one manufacturer's rep. They didn't know that we have been lo...

Good Morning,I have been hunting for a former thread about interior painting and just can't remember where I saw it, so I this seemed like a good place to post. Folks who painted their interiors just use regular primer and paint? And is the wallpaper border removal same as in a house? Just didn't know i...
Hi! I've never been on a forum before - so afraid of "breaking the rules!" I recently read Howard's journal from the very beginning. Now I'm disappointed every time I check and there's no new post! My husband and I plan to fulltime beginning in May 2014, so we've been researching all the info...
Hi, We are Paul and Peggy Snively. We just joined the forum and look forward to learning more about full time rving. We have enjoyed 2 three month stretches and loved it. We have an old hitchhiker 5th wheel and it has performed perfectly. We have a decided to move to...
Hi all My name is Terry and I plan on jumping into RVing during the first part of next year. I have been thinking of this for quite a few years and because of some recent personal circumstances I have decided to throw myself into this fulltime next year. I have been absorbing myself into all things RV for th...
We are looking at 5th wheels. This may be stupid to post on here since someone may love one we post, but I am gonna do it anyways.. lol Hoping that someone can help us to choose the better one. We for the most part like all the layouts and feel they will work well for living concept. Our thing is the actual rv it...
Saw this at a dealer in Prescott, AZ this week (2/22/12) & we were really impressed. Very gently used and we would buy it but we're just not ready to buy the new truck yet that it would require. We think it's a great deal for someone who is seriously looking. Think it's a custom model as the exact floor p...
