Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We purchased a 2010 Baystar about a month ago. We were sold on them due to the craftsmanship and quality they seem to have. It has been a good purchase so far it seems but we have yet to take on any long camping trips. I just wanted to feel others out that also own or have owned them to give us their thought and e...
It probably wouldn't have made any difference to have done this earlier, but I have been considering using Smugmug's Pro service for putting my photos out on the internet. In the past, the Pro service was around $150 a year. I went there again today to check some things as I'm just about prepared to &q...
Became a full timer about three months ago. Needing a little help on a few issues and thought something like this would answer some of my questions! Good sailing!
Okay, I didn't think it would be this big of a deal. I want to take out the booth style dining table and replace it with a dining room table. Most of the newer 5th wheels have tables instead of booths so I figured I would just go to the camper dealer and buy one. They are no where to be found! Does anyone know...
Has anyone seen anything on this new style hitch. It looks good and has some nice features.http://www.trailermatehitch.com/index.aspI'm looking at trying to reduce the verticle motion on the truck and 5er. I would also like to reduce the bucking. One problem I have is the hitch I have is the 16k ree...
We plugged in the hose for the central vac and when I pulled it out it will not go off. We tried putting the hose back in and out again several times but it still would not turn off. My hubby turned off the breaker labeled central vac but that was not the right one. The one that turned it off was labeled conv...
If we hit our schedule to be fultiming by spring of 2013 we were thinking of workamping in Skagway which means we will be driving in Canada a good bit. Has anyone been that direction and how are the roads? I was thinking of taking my shotgun and pistol with me and would be stowed in the 5'er. Is that a proble...
I wanted to ask our weighing expert a simple question? Even though my rig tows level, I have seen numerous rigs on the road that have a serious high hitch. Now, since we all have "equalizing wheel systems" do these high front rigs put undue weight on the rear tires? I realize the equalizin...
In your opinion, what would be the best sealant to use to reseal seams? Manufacturers say to check seams every 6 months but don't really say what to use. At least I haven't come across recommendations.
Hi everyone - Ben and I are still working our regular jobs while living in the 5th wheel (a year now!), getting rid of that raising the kids debt :) We would like to trade in and get a toy hauler. My question is: getting the financing and be a fulltimer. Any advice or knowlege Thanks so much
Have a 2006 Alfa Founder's motorhome. In the last three days, the batteries have totally lost power after sitting for a day. I jump started the motorhome, but have no idea what is happening. Nothing I can find is left-on. Has to be something big to drain all batteries in one day. Any ideas?
I have been researching for weeks now and trying so hard to understand everything as much I can. On the road with Nacho Thought you might enjoy our travels to Vermont, New York and Ontario the last couple weeks. Sure do wish we were full-timing or at least part-time full-timing
After my second blowout in three weeks I will be replacing it Monday. ( It blew out late on a Saturday afternoon.) When the one that just blew out gets replaced I will replace the other two tires also so that I can have four new tires on the ground. One of the other two tires I am replacing was from a blowout in...
When we were younger we did a bit of traveling with the kids. Now we are both retired and debating the wisdom of selling our house or maybe renting it out. Need to think more on that. However, we just started looking at a Class-A, have one in mind. Powered by the Ford V-10. How is that power plant? Is it enoug...

We are planning to jump in to full timing next year, just ordered our rig and will pick it up in the Spring. Does anyone have any advice in selecting a domicile state?
Just wondering how many others are going to be working for Amazon this season? Rudee and I will be at the Campbellsville, Kentucky location staying at Indian Ridge Campground and would love to meet others in our RV Dreams Family. Phil
We are not Rvers yet, however we are doing everything we can to make it happen. My question is after researching the residency I had come across the idea of being an Alaskan resident. Hi Everybody, Anyone know where I can find the mounting plate for the city fresh water inlet. I enclosed a picture of the mounting plate i'm looking for. I am unfamiliar with this area and am seeking advice from those that have driven this route. I need to travel from near Ellijay, Ga (Doll Mountain COE park on Carters Lake) to Asheville, NC towing a 38' fifth wheel. The direct route is mostly on state highway 74 through the Nanthahala National Fores...
Does anyone have suggestions of good parks to spend a month during jan, feb or mar, in the keys? Or is it possible to get a spot without reservations? Recommendations of parks to stay in on the way to the keys? Any help will be appreciated.
Kurt
My wife and I will begin Full Timing in about 6 months. We plan to initially travel throught the western US and on up through Canada and into Alaska in the summer. Our plan is to avoid the big cities and stick to the lesser travelled roads. How do we handle any financial needs that may come up? I'm think...
