Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

I have gone and done it. I invited my in-laws and Sister's in law family to the campsite for Easter Lunch/dinner. Since we are weekenders, I know I can prep at home and go. I am taking the big crock pot for the ham and using the grill for shrimp (we are on the Florida/Alabama coast) but I am looking for sug...
Hi, I'm new here with lots of questions. We will be buying a used motorhome in TX, registering it there, and making Texas our domicile. Can someone direct me to a website which will give me some idea of the fees and sales taxes, hopefully with a breakdown by county, involved with doing this?
Free is Very Good Price We've just pulled into Fort Anahuac County Park. After stopping at the Chambers County Building and getting our "FREE" three day permit from County Commissioner, Bubba Abernathy, we were set to go. I'm not kidding, 3 days free camping from Bubba, it doesn't g...

Hi all, We are new to the site. We spend about five months per year in our fifth-wheel, roaming North America. As chief driver I'm presently right at the 100,000 mile mark -- two Alaska trips, all the lower 48 states and several Canadian Provinces. Still not ready to settle in one spot except for winter...
Can you all please tell me the least expensive and best way for me to transfer my Dish Satellite to our camper? We will be full timers plus we are still under contract with Dish. We have our dish that is on the house...can we just use that? We also have our DVRs we have been using in the house. Also, our trai...
I did what they suggested since living in a park full time.. close your grey tank 2 days before you want to drain the black one. Well here is the one situation I didnt expect....black tank still shows full after. I called camping world (where I bought it from)...just a glitch you must not be reading it...
I know this has been covered before, but my search really did not answer my question... We had some light rain about a week ago, and today I noticed a stain in the ceiling carpet around the TV antenna control. Can I possibly just get some kind of sealant to patch around the antenna mount on the roof of my 200...
Hello it's Steve and Gail again the newbies to the RV world. We are preparing our RV for our first vacation in June. So we brought our RV home and not long after had a day of hard rain. To our horror the roof leaked pretty bad to the inside. I got up on the roof the following day and realized we've been taken to t...
Experiences on border crossing between Canada/USA. Anyone have any problems or issues? The only time I crossed was from USA to Canada when I bought the coach. There wasn't any issues but it was any empty unit. Now with it full of all the goodies(tools, RV stuff, etc.) do they go through and rip it apart...
Went to get the 5th wheel today for the first trip of this year. Driving along hubby turning into a gas station and the wheels on the fifth wheel went up over the curb. Scared us to death as we thought the RV was gonna tip over. When we got out, water was gushing out in the rear around where the drainage tub...

While waiting to receive my quote from Howard/Wholesale Warranties I shopped around the internet and saw the one Good Sam offers. I like that they show exactly what IS and what ISN'T covered. I know Wholesale Warranties is a great company. Anyone out there have any experience with the one from Go...
As we are faced with the down-down-down-sizing most of you have already gone through, we're dealing with the "does it stay or does it go" question....and the "just letting go...." issue. We saw this article yesterday that puts it in perspective: http://www.huffingtonpost...
I have read that most people use command hooks or Velcro to hang stuff on the walls of the rig. I was ready to hang some command hooks, but, on the package it said not to use on wallpaper. Well, my walls are all wallpaper; so I am wondering if anyone has had success with hooks on wallpaper? If so, have you also...
We are finally setting up to clean out our fresh water tank. We bought our RV about 1.5 years ago and since then have misplaced and or forgotten the size of our fresh tank. We have searched in all the manuals we have and cant seem to find it. Im thinking it would be posted somewhere on the RV itself but not fin...

Am I crazy or is everyone else ? Recently we bought the Soda Stream device after hearing testimonials about how great the flavor is and how much people save by making their own soda. For the RV it seemed like a perfect fit because it takes up less space and weigh less than a six pack or 36 pack of soda cans. W...
We are preparing to head out for the summer and in discussing things with our son and his wife (both police officers) they had a few tips to pass on. Perhaps they may be of benefit to some of you. We travel with our dog, but occasionally when sight seeing or running errands we will leave her in our 5th wheel...
I was going to post a question about which plan I should get for the iPhone on plan on buying next year but decided I need to take a step back and do my homework. There seems to be many more 3.43 differentials out there than the 3.73. Those of you more in the know, is one much better than the other to pull a 12.5K (empty) 5th wheel? Thanks for the help!
We have a question about tires on a new 2013 Dodge 3500 dually. The upgrade is the on-road/off-road tires and they are LT 235/80R17E with a 17x6 inch aluminum rim. The the stock rim is LT 275/70R18E 18x8 inch aluminum rims. These are all season tires. The dealer says they always upgrade them because t...
