Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are just about to purchase a 2001 Beaver Patriot 40'. We will be towing our Ford F150 4x4. I have never owned a 330hp Cat Diesel and have only had 350hp Cummins. We found the Cummins did fine towing and getting the coach up hills. Do I really gave to worry about the 330 Cat? It doesn't have to be a race car b...

Sigh, we are about to give in and invest in a satellite system. I've been reading and so far I think we might go with DISH, as that's what we had at the farm and we were happy with it. But I cannot for the life of me find the discussion of the other satellite providers, other than Direct TV. I thought for sure th...

Hi, I was going to put the furnace on so I went to turn the propane on and got blasted with liquid propane! It is leaking from the main valve on the horizontal 18.3 gallon tank. I turned it off and it is holding but I am a little freaked out. Is it possible to safely drain the tank { it's FULL}. Also can the valve...

Since this is more of an advertisement, although not from me, I'm putting it here instead of in the "Working and Volunteering" category. I'm posting this here because some of you might find it of interest.I know nothing about this RV park or its owners, but I do have an online acquaintance...
I read today that Millenicom will be raising their price $20 starting May 1st. I have not contacted them to verify . Thought I would post it up as a heads up.
I'm looking to get any relevant info from Canadian people that have purchased their motorhome in the US. Since we have decided that we should become fulltimer in approx 24 months, we're having a closer look to our options regarding our purchase. We already know the type of RV we want for living. I'v...
I have to say that this section is an inspiring section for me. I have arthritis in my spine. Most days are painful to say the least but it doesn't stop me. They may have to fuse my spine later on, but right now the meds gets me through. I feel like I have no problems when reading what some of the others are d...
We joined RVillage and was thinking it would be a great forum for staying in touch with other attendees of the RV-Dreams Rally that we met in Kerrville, TX in March of 2012. However, I seem to have misplaced any paperwork we had that listed the names of other folks we met there. So, if you attended tha...

FYI all, April 14, 2014 there will be a total lunar eclipse. For the those that can stay up for it, it begins just before midnite CDT, totality will occur beginning just after 2AM CDT(april 15) and last for 75minutes. The moon will turn a dark red color thus earning the name "Blood Moon"....
One of my lingering concerns has been weather related issues. I grew up in a land of tornadoes and as such take weather pretty seriously. I would love to hear some weather related stories and what folks did to get through it to give me some piece of mind :)
How many fulltimers here carry an extra waste disposal system, and how often do you use it? We have a 22 gallon barker tote that we acquired with our first rv that we kept at trade in for our current 5'er. The issue is where to carry it. All the storage areas where it would fit are used (full), the back of t...
Well we've got the RV, now we need to get the truck. We've been looking on/off for the past year to get ideas. Why is it so hard to find a Dodge/Chevy/GMC 3500 SINGLE rear wheel longbed truck? We know that a dually gives more stability, but I really would rather not have that extra bulk driving and park...
It's been a really intense 6 weeks. A rapid 1K repositioning to Dallas to be with Dale's Mom for the last week of her life, followed by the memorial / graveside services and then trying to provide as much support as possible to Dale's Dad through this life transition of losing his wife of 64.5 years. A...

Drove 5 hours to the RV dealer yesterday with my Granddaughter. We had the scheduled PDI on my "new" used MH and spent the night. Lesson learned: Go ahead and open that propane valve during the PDI. Then you can check that water heater and furnace actually work. Most importantly you won...
