Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Last fall we were caught totally off guard because we hadn't paid enough attention to the local weather reports and were caught by surprise with how horrible the flooding Colorado really was. We were told to evacuate the campground, spent a night in the Target parking lot, spend Friday morning comi...
We are full timers from Texas and have been on the road going on 11 years. Both of us enjoy the lifestyle, visiting museums, reading and my wife does quilting. Also we park host and have hosted in state parks in Arizona, Louisiana, Texas, Montana, South Dakota as well as Fish and Wildlife in the state of...
I kept seeing these mini-vans driving around in the area where I work. Very distinctive due to the color scheme (bright Green and Purple) plus a pod on the roof. Today I noticed graphics on the side indicating it was an RV ??? So I went to the website to satisfy my curiosity.... http://www.jucyrent...
Anyone have suggestions for short trip destinations? Canada or into U.S. I now there should be lots of good places to go and see in Canada. Looking for suggestions from people that had this experience. Right now want to make trips out of long weekends sort of thing. Not sure what to pursue for short 3-4 d...
I'll be looking to add a back up camera to my 2007 Bighorn. What do the experts out there recommend ? Experiences? I'll be picking the rig up May 13th. In Fulton, NY and will start the bonding process, etc. Thanks in advance for your thoughts >>>> Tommaso
Through the facebook page NURVers, I linked to this gentleman's blog. I think he is a new blogger who has not quite gotten the hang of making pages and setting it up yet, but his posts on everyday tricks to help you are really good with links to the products or how-to's. http://hshoem1rving.blogs...
Whoo Hoo, thanks to Sherry's inspiration (WestWardHo) and my husband's nagging, I signed up for RV Driving School and completed the training in Yucca Valley CA as we were enroute from Tucson to Sacramento. Phew, it's done, that's all I can say. Sherry's enthusiasm was great and contagious, but I wa...
I can not believe it is finally here. After a year of planning and waiting the day is quickly approaching. We leave on Sunday after church for our life on the road. I am excited, nervous, & crazy busy. We just have a few things to take to the donation place and clean the house. The RV is ready and hu...
We'll be picking up our 5er soon and still come across a question or two now and then. We'll be pulling our 2013 Montana 3582 (13K dry, 16K loaded) with a 2013 Dodge dually. The dealer is putting on a Husky 16K. Do you think that is sufficient or should we go with the 25K?
Saw a cartoon by Steve Moore and I'll modify it to fit the RV-Dreamers community..... Picture a baseball scoreboard... Inning 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Final NON RV People 8 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 8 RV-Dreamers 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 9...
My almost-son-in-law is living in my camper over in NC while he shops for his own 5th wheel. He's having problems with the water pressure. It is fine for a little while, but if the water runs a bit (like taking a shower) the pressure drops until it's only a trickle coming out of the faucets. This happens at...
First time I've ever seen someone hook up their truck with the slides out. Our neighbor did that this morning. Curious but I didn't think you're supposed to do that? Sherry
How often do you clean your rooftop solar panels, only when the roof is washed or more often? Does it depend on the environment, high dust/pollen clean more often? Thanks for the feedback
We are in the process of searching for our new home on wheels. Today we looked at Diesel 1999 National RV Tradewinds. I really like the floor plan but the owner told us that there were no seat belts under the sofas. My husband thinks that if they weren't put in at the time then we don't legally need them....
Just wondering if anyone has ever installed (or seen for that matter) a gadget that you put next to the kitchen sink that gives you immediate very hot water (so you don't have to boil it on the stove or in the microwave)? I'm spoiled by my water cooler that has a cold and hot water spigot and wondering how I...
We've been in our 2006 gas V10 Georgetown 36' for about 6 weeks driving mostly on flat ground (I-10 from Houston, then to Asheville, NC). I'm towing a 2 door Jeep Wrangler around 3600#. I've tried using the Tow/Haul option and everything seems OK (but the rmps seem high to me) going uphill or at least...
does the tripod help with stabilization? We have the automatic 6 way leveling system and are sitting still for a few months. We have had a rough winter so ground has frozen/thawed and now we have a bit of movement. We are going to move to a different lot in same park next week and are looking for suggestio...
Hi there! My name is Sheryle and my hubby is Bruce. We are just about to realize our dream which has been simmering for almost 2 years now (10 years if you count the time we spent just dreaming about this lifestyle) We spent last year preparing the house to sell, sold the house, transitioned to an apt, boug...
Hi, I'm 60 something and will be traveling alone. I have never owned an RV but did travel with my mother & stepfather across the country in 1995. I drove my van and they drove their C-class RV. We stayed at some wonderful campgrounds and saw some amazing country. I have a million questions but I'll...
Anyone using one of these models? My coach was supposed to be equipped with one of these but it was robbed before I got the coach. I was thinking of getting one through DYERS RV.
Hello,This looks like a great forum We are retired and RV part-time in a Class C.I use the same name on several forums.Good to see some old friends here.Safe travels.
I have a few things I want to hang in the 5th wheel.... A glass shelf in the bathroom, a clock on the wall and a rod and reel holder behind the bedroom door. My husband says it's too dangerous because we don't know whats in the walls...ie....pipes, wiring, etc. These are things that can't be hung with comm...
Two other steps toward FT, last thursday I sold my 2010 Chevy Camaro it was almost knew only 15,000 km. Another major step in my life, as of today I'm officially retired from the RCMP. Last part of the house to be done is the family room in the basement and start to purge the stuff that we won't need, this...
We are going to Winter Park, Fl for warranty repair on the fiver next week. We need to stay overnight before going to the dealer early. Does anyone have any suggestions about where to stay?
Ok, I know I'm not going to get rich and "the old school" has taught me that anything worth a hoot takes work. Mainly, I'd like to find something an old, low tech guy like me can handle doing that will make enough to pay for a wifi hotspot plan (less than $100/mo) and maybe a buck or two in my jeans....
The current crop of features on new rigs today is quite impressive compared to roughly 5 years ago and certainly compared to 15 years ago. Anybody got any ideas on what the next 5 years will bring, 10 years? Or what they'd like to see standard that is now optional. Even now, residential reefers seeming...
Well, we have been using an RV for work, for about a year now. We are in it 4 days a week and about a month and a half ago, we decided we were house slaves. And the journey begins. We put the house up for sale, and guess what.......it sold! Now what? We have to get a bigger RV, because the one we have is quite...
