Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Went to get the 5th wheel today for the first trip of this year. Driving along hubby turning into a gas station and the wheels on the fifth wheel went up over the curb. Scared us to death as we thought the RV was gonna tip over. When we got out, water was gushing out in the rear around where the drainage tube for the fresh water tank is. We turned around and drove directly to the dealership for repair. Trip cancelled as they said it could take 3 weeks if they need to order a new tank from Forest River. I hope it's something less complicated but knowing our luck....we'll...you know.
cant understand how you would have broken the Freshwater tank unless it wasnt fasten down....are you sure you didnt just slosh it out the overflow or a clamp let go ?

I'd be under there finding out why and trying to find a solution that wouldn't delay my trip. Visual inspection might reveal something as simple as Mike mentioned. Grab a wine cork and take a look.

cant see up there because the underbelly covering has to be removed to see the tank. I can tell you it looked really bad and I had them open the plug to release the rest of the water from the tank because the underbelly covering was bowing down filling with water as it was leaking faster than it was draining out onto the pavement. $269 for an "estimate".... should hear by Weds.
hope it is something simple but sure sounds bad to me. My thoughts are that if you were afraid it was going to turn over, that much torque and "body flexing" applied to the connections on the tank may have ripped a fitting loose, of course this is only a guess. Dropping the belly panels should reveal the details ....... good luck, hope it's a simple and easy fix!
Phil
ps: for what the dealership is charging for an "estimate" they better be checking for black tank, grey tank and LP leaks as well!

When we took our 5th wheel out for a trip little after we bought it new the 66 gallon water tank fell down onto the 2 axles and just laid there, so we had to take it to the dealer and they said the brackets holding the bottom of the tank were not put close enough together to hold the tank properly. It did pull down the underbelly covering, that also had to be repaired.
