Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have located various sources of information about boondocking locations within the US (e.g., Bureau of Land Management (BLM), National Forests, Corps of Engineers, State Parks, etc.). Do you have any suggestions about finding location information for Canada? One of the main reasons we are p...
This last 2012/2013 Snowbird season we stayed mainly in the desert areas of the three States of Arizona, Nevada and California. We have grown very fond of the desert now and love the isolation, peace and beauty it offers. Looking through my archive of photos I have picked out the 10 Favorite Photograp...
Greetings all, First let me say how helpful this forum, and those of you who regularly contribute to it, has been for my wife and I. We're researching and studying the issues and questions as we work toward our goal of full timing, hopefully sometime in 2014. We'd like to emulate many of you and leisur...
Several years ago the city we live in passed RV parking restrictions where it is nearly impossible to park an RV in front of your house for more than a few hours. Honest folks are being penalized due to dishonest folks. Yesterday I went to Sam's Club and stood in the check out line behind two customers....
Hello from Indiana! Cathy and Denny here. We are not new to rving, but new to the forum. Purchased a new 2011 fleetwood Bounder upon retiring and have not looked back. Mostly rving between April and November, getting anxious already. Hoping for nice spring so we can get started.
We purchased ABS plastic jack pads (20,000 lb. weight capacity each) for typical usage, but we know we will need additional jack pads if we are on unlevel ground. I had Home Depot cut some 3/4 plywood into 12x12 pieces for me, that we can use to assist with leveling. However, I am not sure how many pie...
I am doing a bit of research and have found a few reviews which are a few years old. Would love to learn of newer parks or experiences in a long term RV park within a half hour of down town. We need 50 amp and full hook ups. thanks heaps, suse.
So I'm talking to my eldest son today and talking about how I'm going to an RV Driving School next week. The respectful son of mine asked me to offer his deepest respect & condolences to my instructor and to tell him that my son would rather teach teenage girls to drive a stick shift! He's just getting...
so I guess we'll be at the rv service shop tomorrow. we drove from central Florida to Corpus Christi area and overall are extremely pleased with our Carriage Cameo. though it's an 02 it's basically seen no use until we bought it last year. we've been living in it on site since thanksgiving so haven't h...
First time posting a new topic. Short intro, we have been "looking" at trailers for over 10 years and been reading this forum for 5+ years. We are now down to our last year before finally making the big purchase. Currently we are leaning towards something like a new Bay Hill 295RL by Everg...
Whatever you do, don't give me any credit for this idea of a modification for hard to pull tank valves because all I'm doing is posting this information from another forum that someone else found on yet a third forum somewhere. However, this guy did post some pictures of his modification along with hi...
This is my first post here. Not yet a full-time, that's the goal my wife and I have for a few years down the road. We do camp several weeks and many weekends each year. We have a 2013 Fleetwood Bounder that we purchased new last June. We currently have it in the shop getting an upgrade to the electrical syste...
I'm Nikki, and my husband Ron will be retiring from the US Army is 3 years and we are starting our research to hit the road full time when it's all said and done. This is such a great site and had found it about 2 years ago when we were living in Ft. Knox KY. Lots of information to be shared and lots for us to learn...
I looked through the search and didn't see anything recent about the Husky Hitch. Any thoughts on this hitch? It would be a Husky 16K for an empty 12K 5er.
Okay, so the possible new to us diachronic has a 5000lb hitch. My truck I'll be towing is 5600lbs. Can the Reese hitch be modified legally to pull my truck? I know now it can be beefed up but can it be legal and certified or do I have to replace it with a 10000lb hitch? I don't want an issue going down the road!...
My daughter, my dog Tj and I have been rving for about 2 and half years in a travel trailer. The only regret I have is that I have not done this sooner. We have enjoyed the RV life more than we ever dreamed. I plan on retiring in about 4 and half years and would like to upgrade to a fifth wheel. My daughter and...
I'm hoping I might be able to attend the Fall rally, but I need to be in Raleigh, NC by noon of Wed. Sept. 24th. It is about 700 miles, so I think if I can cover about 200 miles a day I can do it. However, looking at Google maps, it looks like I'll be going thru the mountains (probably Smoky or Adirondacks) when...
Hi All, I'm in the process of purchasing a travel trailer in ohio while I live in CA. I won't be bringing it to CA because I don't have a tow vehicle yet. I've been told that I will have to register it in CA because my DL is here. This is so expensive! Anyone have any advice or suggestions about this. Is this tr...
Born and raised in Detroit, my career has been focused on the Great Lakes and their islands. I bought my class B in 2009 after joining Rving Women and am circling the lakes one at a time researching, taking photos and blogging with my dog Henry. I call my rig Ecovision. I've been reading RV-Dreams for yea...
Pam and I would like to thank Kyle for all the help he gave us in oursearch for health insurance when we were starting our full timeadventure. We planned to use Cobra for a few months while we figuredout what policy/company would be best and started the search inFebruary before Pam's retirement to get...
As an owner of a large-ish Class A gasser with a toad, I've noticed that the prevailing layout of fuel stations has the gasoline pump lanes set perpendicular to the store/ parking, while the diesel pump lanes are set parallel to the store/ parking. Trying to negotiate 37 feet of MH and 20 feet of toad/ hi...
Ok, I admit I know as much about fishing as I do about RVs and trucks... which is nil, nada, nothing (although I'm learning). How many of you fish, not only for pleasure but for food? I assume such fishing is done in lakes, rivers and streams, not in the ocean. What is that type of fishing called (is that f...
We are currently in WI and will be leaving April 1 to go to So. Utah. We have an older (1997) Class A and try to avoid steep mountains. I've checked a couple of routes - the shortest going through Nebraska, to CO, over the Rockies, into UT. Another way would be to go a little north to WY and then on into Utah....

it's less than a year old and this has been happening on and off this month. the manual says it's an electrical problem, we cannot get anyone to answer at whirlpool, in fact every time we call we are put on hold with muzak for ten or more minutes and then the line goes dead. awesome customer service, huh?!...
Hello All from Beautiful British Columbia. We just sold our Dynasty and are currently on the search for our next "New to Us" coach. We aren't retired, but enjoy the Class A DP way of "Glamping" on spare weekends and holidays.
Well, after months of preparation and talk the realtor was here last night and our house is officially listed for sale! Should be on MLS Monday morning! That doesn't mean there isn't still work to do, but we have reached the point that the realtor said "it's time!". We are so very excited...
