Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Have any full time RVers set up domicile in South Carolina? If so, would you share steps necessary to make it happen? (We have reasons why this state is an option.)
The three states that most fulltimers use are Florida, South Dakota, & Texas. All three are RV friendly, don't put up obstacles to your becoming a resident, do not have a state income tax, have relatively low sales taxes on vehicles, excuse fulltimers who are traveling from jury duty, and have mail forwarding companies that focus on fulltime RVers. Since SC hasn't appeared on any list of domicile states for fulltimers, I assume that there are some things about the state law that make it less than ideal for fulltimers.

What Nancy and Bill said X2. As SC residents (moved across the river from Georgia), we find the taxes to be outrageous. We plan to domicile in Texas when we go full time (in the next year or so, we hope).

Lived there for 42 years and found it to be one of the least RV friendly states and high taxes to boot. I think we are going to use South Dakota when we go full time.
We live in Prescott Valley, AZ presently and find taxes in AZ much like the taxes in SC....Too High! Would love to have AZ as our domicile since our drivers license doesn't expire until we turn 65 (which gives us another 15 years) but with the property tax, jury duty, income tax, etc. we will need to change states.
azrving: Hopefully you have group health insurance if you want to go to SD. Unless you do not plan on traveling out of the state, since individual plans seem to all be in-state only.

Good point, I hadn't considered the health insurance but I will definitely look into that when we are ready to make a change. Appreciate you mentioning that!
