Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Florida Keys Camping

I am planning a trip to the Florida Keys soon.  Does anyone have any good reviews for campgrounds there?  I don't have a big rig, just a 23' Class C.

We stayed at John Pennekamp in Key Largo. Excellent place. Bahia Honda SP is very nice too, but our trailer was too big to stay there. Other than that I would just look up rvparkreviews.com to get some reviews. Stay away from Jolly Rogers in Marathon (well, things may have changed since December 2011 ...).

If you stay in Miami on the way down, try Larry and Penny.

We stayed at Knights Key, in site 53 in December of 2014.  It's nice with a nice tiki/bar.  Some fancier pull throughs, some backed right up to the water.  We enjoyed it as it's about 1/2 down the keys and the price is less than most.

Different strokes for different folks- we really enjoyed Jolly Roger and thought it was one of the best parks in the keys, for the money.

With a 23', you can camp in places we cannot. There are a couple good places to camp in Big Pine Key that have size restrictions.  But also look at pet restrictions, since the Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge won't allow pets since Key Deer walk through the campground and they are an endangered species.  The state parks can be full, even when not full, since there are people in Florida who will pay for the campsite and not go.  (Yes, either stupid with their money or think they have so much that they can waste it.)
