Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
What small appliances do you use in your RV and why? Are there any that you have found were not useful that you had previously thought would be useful?
We are total small appliance gadget geeks.. we love our rice cooker, immersion blender, induction portable cooktop and instant hot water heater.. here's some other newer gadget we just added to our RV kitchen: www.technomadia.com/2015/05/new-rving-kitchen-gadget-additions/
I'll start off by saying that I've never been much of a cook, so never have had a lot of cool gadgets in the kitchen. When transitioning, I started with the mindset that everything needed to have two purposes and bought a toaster oven/toaster combo and quickly chucked the two purpose rule for EVERYTHING out the window. Donated that to goodwill and bought a small toaster!! Space was more important that functionality in that case.
Other appliance include: a crock pot (mid size), george forman grill with interchangeable plates (serving more than one purpose with a griddle, grill AND waffle maker!!). We also have an induction plate that we really like, a small vacuum sealer, nutribullet, and hand mixer. We also brought our convection oven (tabletop round) with us and have used it only once (when it was too cold to grill outside). That will probably get purged next time we get around to purging!!
We have added a 2 burner induction cooktop as I do not like propane. On the advice of members of this group I also bought a Breville oven. I love my oven. It replaces a toaster, oven and much more. It is more expensive than a normal toaster oven, but so worth it. I also have a crockpot and my steamer.. DH has a coffee pot.

Love the Food Saver, so great for sealing leftovers to freeze that are our enroute dinners! Took us a while but finally found a 4 Qt crockpot to be the right size for us, always use crockpot liners to simplify clean up, a trick learned from Linda at a rally.
And yes, we have a coffee maker and grinder that are used daily, can't live without those, they are the only appliances I am willing to keep on the counter daily.
We actually took one of our closets and turned it into a floor to ceiling storage area for small appliances.
Some of our favorites:
Tefal ActiFry- great for fried foods using a tablespoon of oil. Also use it to cook sausages, brats, chicken drumettes, frozen taquitos
Breville Pizza Oven- We make great homemade pizza in about 30 minutes. Better than any frozen or delivery pizza.
West Bend Egg & Muffin Toaster- Quick, easy and good breakfast sandwiches better than the fast food kind.
Keurig Kcup Beverage Maker- Coffee selections galore plus hot chocolate, tea (hot or cold) and coming soon soup.
Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Brewer- Quick and easy Iced Tea
Magic Chef Counter Top Ice maker- new ice every 7 minutes.
Waring Pro Waffle Maker- Easy to use and quick waffles.

As one of the people who convinced others to get a Breville Smart Oven, you know we have one of those. We also have an espresso machine since we are from Seattle. That is it. We are trying to figure out where we would carry an induction cooktop, since Diane got fed up with our pots and pans and we now have a fancy MasterClad set that works with induction.

Jo doesn't like a lot or even big appliances on her counter tops, so we found a small two-slice toaster and a small waffle iron. Each is stored in a drawer, so they obviously aren't very big. I think they were both made by Rival, and I think we found them at Walmart. Other than that, there is my Mr. Coffee 4-cup coffee maker.
Now, if you want to find large items, the wife could describe her sewing equipment. 3 different machines, I think.
