Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
A word about coach electrical protection, service and warranty –Christmas day I get an email from friends that said: “Lost all electrical power in rig. Please call us.”Then a phone number.I call, get some information and we begin trouble shooting over the phone.Seems they have been right in th...
HERE is a video from CBS News of tornado damage done to the Plantation Place RV Park. Thank God, no one was killed, although 11 people lost their life in nearby Garland TX.
Considering the dire predictions for El Niño this winter and spring, would you head to California this January or stay somewhere less prone to floods and mud slides? Rob
I have always been intrigued with mid engine diesel pushers with a rear garage that can take a small car. Does anyone has experience with these coaches or know someone who owns them and their experiences? I have hauled mostly 4 down behind and hated disconnecting to backup, although over the years i le...
I don't have an RV yet but I'm shopping for a bus conversion in the 35'-40' range. I'd like to save $$$ by going toad-free. I'm wondering if anyone else with a large RV is toad free. Thanks for any feedback.
During early retirement, do you pay SS tax, Medicare Tax when drawing from Roth IRA or 401k etc? I pay those on earned income but i am not planning to work during early retirement thanks jim
Hello from Arizona. New to the site. Have been looking thru differant areas and havent found anything on RVing it to Alaska from AZ. Wife and I would like to take that drive the Fall of 2016.
I try to do this every year, but I'm a little late this time.Just wanted to remind folks, that are in the market for an extended warranty, that it's best to purchase before year end. Once Jan 1 rolls around, your RV will be one model year older and premiums will be higher. Also, if you have a unit that is mo...
For those who don't frequent the Escapees forum, I'm posting my question here... After the first of the year, we would like to head to Southern California to visit my wife's brother (lives in La Jolla). We expected sticker shock when looking at RV Parks in the area, but $60 - $90 a night and up is a bit much...
I wonder, what are the appropriate amuonts of Rainy Day funds to have when full timing? How much do you set aside? I am thinking of three categories... 1. Health/Medical for 2 people -this is to cover deductible amount before the insurance kicks in 2. RV+Car/Truck+trailer combo - this is to be used fo...
I am currently planning to start full-timing in the next few years. I am 60-something, single and mostly retired. I live with my Pa, who is 90, and help him take care of his household. I'll be staying put as long as he is with me. (My brother and his son also live with us.) My main hobby is touring on my C...

Has anyone been to the Borrego Springs area in the last couple of months? I've heard a few comments from other boondockers in Quartzsite and read on one blog that the rules are changing and camping is only allowed close to the road which is going to force people to camp much closer together than previou...
One of the things I love to do when it's a little too miserable to spend a lot of time outside, or in the evenings, not being very much into TV is Jigsaws, typically minimum 1000 pieces and up. Once you've sorted out your pieces the last thing you want to do is have to sort them all out again and again and agai...
Woohoo! One year from today--July 1, 2016--we'll be full-timers! We first started thinking about this in the spring of 2014, as Cheryl was recovering from one of five surgeries she had that year for early-stage breast cancer. We almost lost her during the first one due to an unexpected complication...

Okay I think this may be a longshot, but are there any RR modellers on the forum? I am weighing whether to downsize my hobby or just sell it all and switch to another interest. My vision is to build a modular set-up that could be broken down for storage (if available in an RV or perhaps a toy hauler, though w...

We're having a very windy day so we brought the kitchen slide in, therefore reducing the airflow near our C02 detector and the alarm keeps going off. Checked all the propane connections for a third time, especially since we just had a tank filled today. Not a problem when the slide is out but we were th...
Hey y'all, I'm AudreyLynn. I'll start with the bio and go from there. I'm the widow of a retired military veteran, raised 6 kids and have 9 grandchildren. Merry Christmas! We made our maiden voyage for the Christmas holiday. 7 days in (Christmas Day) the fan on the furnace kicked on. I shut all zones off and the thermostat off and it continues to run. Pulled the fuse it turns off but when placed back in it continues to run. This is a new rig. Any sugges...
Hi all,I'd like your opinions on traveling two different routes from Roswell, NM to Las Vegas. I've attached the two that come up most when plugging in directions in the numerous travel sites. What I'm wondering is if the upper or lower route is more compatible to my Ford 350 diesel dually and 20K tr...

Hi all, My wife and I have been full timing in our 5er since June this year ( 2015 ). I was wondering what major parts would make sense to have on hand. I was thinking about water pumps and furnace fans etc. Specifically for a 2015 DRV Mobile Suite 38PS3. What is the life expectancy on some of those pa...
It's the week before Christmas and all through the city; everyone was stirring even the kitty. Well; all of a sudden there was such a clatter as vehicles crashed and many were scattered. And all of sudden who should appear; eight large wreckers to make the way clear and an ambulance with medics who rea...
