Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Howdy gang. So just wondering if anyone is going this year? Knowing it's a far cry from yester year, we will give it a go the whole month of Jan. I know, who really needs a rock!! ha anyway, just curious, and if ya have been befor or recently what you thought of it. Thanks
We went last year for a couple of days. Quartzsite is something everyone should experience at least once. For us, it was like a whole town turned flea market. So two days were enough since at that time were were not looking for anything in particular. We might go back this year if in the area, but will not go out of our way.

Hi, we're not looking for anything either, just thought we'd see what all the hoop la is about, a month will probably be way too long, but the price is right. Know it'll be a "cluster: to drive in, so we need to start now and find some patience. ha Do you recall if they have shuttles to and from parks, to the main event? Boy that sure would help. Thanks for your response. Michele
We will be there maybe a week in Dec. and probably 2 or 3 weeks in January and maybe even a week or so in March. For us it's not the hoop-la surrounding the Big Tent that draws us, it's meeting up with friends, some we may only see once a year.
Our first trip to Q was about seeing what the big deal was. It just turned out that we created our own big deal and the Big Tent just happens to be going on LOL!!
When we go in Dec. or Feb.we are usually just looking for some piece and quiet.
Friends and the local RC Airfield is where it's at with us & Quartzsite.

we go to spend time with old, and brand new friends. We will probably go for a week or so in January. We meet up with a core group of friends- a group that is always willing to add newbies. Last year, we met Dave and Diane (HDRider) as well as a half dozen other people.
We plan to be there towards the end of December for a few days, somewhat dependent upon my work situation. Probably won't be there for the big event this year, just not worth the hassle that I experienced trying to be productive at work while my data connection was barely crawling in the week leading up to the event.
And Dave's right, it's a great time to catch up with people you don't see elsewhere, in fact, I think it was the only time last year we managed to see Dave and Dianne, when we had an RV Dreams get together at Silly Al's Pizza the week before. And btw, I will not be trying to organize anything like that again, that was a little bit too loud, crowded and not a good situation for a large group to be able to catch up.
With the low Canadian peso ( currently hovering around $0.76 U.S.) we plan on less exploring and just hunkering down in Q from mid Oct. to the end of March. Lots of friends there, geocaching and ATVing to do. Sounds like we should have another mini RV-Dreamers reunion/meet and greet. We look forward to seeing all you regulars again next winter!
Yes, I see the appeal of meeting up with friends, having only been doing full time just over 2 months now, I too hope to start making those friendships, Not so much about the "Big Tent", but experiencing different places, having spent 2 months in very quiet spots, Q and Mesa will be a lil different for us, but looking forward to it all.. Hope to meet you in Q or somewhere down the road!!!!!
We'll be there from Jan 8th until I can't use my wifi anymore or feB 1 whichever comes first. Huge bucket list item for Lee and the thing he wants to do most since we started the lifestyle

are you planning on staying in a park, then?
Many people who go to Q in January park in the desert, either on their own, or with a group.
Part of the fun (actually, MOST of the fun, for me) is to boondock with a bunch of friends and sit around a communal campfire, coming and going as you please.
We usually car (or truck ) pool anytime we go in to town, especially for the show.
If you ARE staying in a park and want to just try boondocking for a day or so, you would be welcome to join our group.
Here is (I hope) a link to my blog post about our stay in Q last January
Yes we will be in a park, my hubby has c-pap ,so need the electric. We realize the fun of everyone boondocking, hope to try that out some day, but for now, just want to see the " Fun" in Q... Thanks Soos for the invite!! Hope to meet any of you there!!!!!
Howdy, thanks for the info, we are aware of the options, however we don't have an inverter, and because his machine is older, do not have 12V cord, so for now, we need electric..
Bernie, you don't have to be hoser about it, ehhhh? If you start spending some time south of the border, y'all will be talkin' that way too!!! The "y'all" slips out of my Canadian mouth occasionally at home in Chicagoland, but when we spend time down south where it's a requirement to use the "ofishal" Texas-English Translation Guide... The y'alls start to roll off the tongue too easily.
Don't know if the y'all is that common in AZ, but it sure is 2 states east of there.
Please, no Y'all in AZ, we left that kind of language behind in TX where we spent Thanksgiving.
That being said, we plan to arrive in Q tomorrow, staying through Christmas. Can't think of a better place to enjoy a full moon at Christmas way away from the city lights. We spent Christmas there 2 years ago and the night sky is so beautiful, you'll find us watching for Santa's sleigh as we enjoy our campfire.
Well, as our luck has it, won't be able to enjoy "Q", as had hoped. Luckily we got a full refund. Long story short, because of restrictions with health care, we will only be able to part time. Bought a park model in Mesa, and will soon get established with Drs, etc.. So to all that are going, have a great time, and Merry Christmas!!
Rudee and I will be there in the big tent recruiting work campers. We are not bringing the Winnie and will be in a motel in Blythe. Be sure and stop by our booth and say "Howdy" (that's Texas for "Hi" Ruth LOL). Will be nice to see everyone and meet up with those we haven't met yet too.

Phil and Rudee - sorry we'll miss you, we found last year that the data / cell connectivity is just too slow during that time to allow me to work efficiently. So, we'll be gone before the big event, returning after the crowds have died down, giving us a chance to explore SoCal for a few weeks.
