Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Has anyone had any experience with a Garmin RV 760 LMT? We are thinking of buying one. We read user reviews and like the features it offers over the Rand McNally and Magellen units, but we wanted to hear from the RV-Dreamers before we made the purchase.
When using space heaters no heat gets into area around water and black tanks. Would it be possible or practical to add a switch that would let the fan run and pull air through the heat ducts?? Wayne

I am looking at this 2008 Newmar X Aire as my next FT RV home (need my garage back). The selling description states; "These vehicles are custom built, durable, and finished like all other Newmar Motor homes. If you want the best built and best finished toy haulers, you need to look at X-Aire by Newm...

Bill and I are heading out of FL at the end of January - heading WEST to (hopefully) catch up with some of you in AZ! The most obvious route looks like Rt 10 and we would like to stop in New Orleans, San Antonio and Carlsbad Caverns. Is there anywhere else that is a must-see? Are there any CG's along the rou...
Started working on our Federal income taxes today, didn't take near as long as last year when we sold the house, donated boatloads of "stuff" to charity etc. One more big advantage to this full time RV life However, I do have one question that some of you might have dealt with when you had sol...
I am excited to be part of this site. I can't wait to learn more about RV options and to share what I do learn along the way. -- Edited by rodeojoe on Wednesday 16th of December 2015 10:46:04 AM
Greetings forum folks! I'm new to the forum but I've been reading and admiring the blog for a few years, and I got to attend the Fall Rally this year, so shout out to Howard and Linda and all the nice people I met at that event, what a great group! My status is, the house is determined to fight me every step of...
Hello everyone, I am sorry for the anonymity but due to the topic and all, I don't want family or friends knowing what could be up should we decide to do this. And thus far, things are stacking into the "YES lets do this" pile. Hmm, maybe I should seek out folks that say "NO, DONT DO IT!&...
Hello all! We (Sheila and I) aren't quite ready to pull the trigger on FT'ing yet. We still have a one or two responsibilities to fulfill. We are looking forward to it though. We already enjoy traveling and head to AZ as often as possible in the winter. I save all the time available to me for the winters. I...
Hi all, We don't have slide toppers and don't want them, but as we sit in the Redwoods and have experienced 9 straight days of rain I am wondering if there is any alternative to muffle the sound of rain hitting the bedroom slideout at night. We have talked about tarps, but that is a bit of a hassle and woul...
Hi All! Ran and I are getting ready to finalize our order of our DRV. It is a 39DBR with the 1/2 bath swapped out for a pantry. I think we did a good job of "loading it up" with options. What do you think we might have missed? Thanks!
This may be more of a rant than a question, but I defer to the full time experts! While out riding the Harley yesterday, the wife and I stumbled upon an RV show...the kind where they fill the parking lot at a mall. We needed a break, so thought we would walk through a few just for fun. We will be retired in a...
April is not that far away and we are planning on getting the I S system installed before the Rally, My question is to those who have it is. What bearings did you go with and why? I am leaning on going with the greaseable type instead of the sealed. Thanks for your feedback.
Looking for a reputable RV inspector in the Denton / Weatherford, TX area. Which is the just west of Dallas/Ft. Worth - according to Google maps. Anyone know of a good inspector?
We have a couple of spots available on our 24 day Copper Canyon/ Mazatlan Rv caravan Jan 10th (nogales), due to late cancelations. I am wagon master for this trip. Very low price. If interested, PMl me or email paul@natcoa.com
I've been RVing for 10 years and full-timing for almost 2, but last month I nearly started my rig on fire due to my RV's 110 electrical system going haywire. My problems started one night last month with circuit breakers flipping when I was running my ceramic heater. I'd been running the heater fine...
Hi everyone ~ We are Dave and Lisa and we have just recently started to plot our escape from corporate america! We live in the Charlotte NC area and we are in our early 50s. When we found out the manufacturing plant Dave works for is closing and he will eventually be out of a job, it gave us the opportunity...
Title says it all. Just wondering how much fridge capacity is typical. We have 25cu (9.5 of it as freezer) at the S&B which we restock about every 2 weeks but a lot of that capacity is used for freezing and storing our home garden bounty and meat specials. Won't be a factor on the road... We realize th...
Unbelievable........................to say the least. 5C today, then 7C tomorrow. Climbing all the way up to 8C on Wednesday. We have no snow at all. Gets cold at night but nice all day. Man, some are bringing their motorcycles back out and cruising around. I can handle this. Should be taking the mot...
Maybe I need satellite TV for dummies. I am new to the satellite TV thing. I have the original KingDome in-motion satellite antenna that came with my 2007 Allegro Bus when new. I arranged DISH network service a year ago opting for the America Top 120 plan (120 channels). I have driven from one side of...
I am about to start phase two of my solar install and would like some feedback on an idea I have for installing an inverter. Looking at installing a Magnum Energy MS2812 inverter on a 2013 235RLS Fox Mountain 5th wheel. Currently have six Kyocera 140 watt panels, Morningstar TSMPPT 60 charge controll...

In cooler weather we have the usual condensation on the windows until sun hits it. Using Damp rid helps some. I know, should have gotten dual pane windows! Thinking we need a dehumidifier. However, they are so large and heavy. Any suggestions for something small and light?
