Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Since we have so many people here and there is lots going on I thought I would start a thread where people can post if they are doing an activity and want to throw it open to anyone here. To keep it as clean as possible, let's not RSVP through here but just state the thing and time and whoever shows up shows up...
Recently a few people have been kind enough to post their 2015 budget/expenses. Lee & Trace and Dave & Diane both presented very clear reports for others to use in planning. One of the comments from Dale & Ruth about budgeting for vacations got me to thinking. An unmentioned benefit o...
We have a family of 6 & are planning to buy our 1st MH. I want multiple sleeping areas (at least 4-5) and my husband thinks we should get a diesel. I've narrowed it down to 3 choices (I think) at similar prices ($120-150K) - a 2015 Jayco Seneca 37FS(super C), 2016 Thor Palazzo 33.3, & 2016 Jayco Pre...
Hello! We are a retired couple from the Netherlands and fulltimers. The reason I subscribed here is because in Europe fulltiming is not very common and there are no fulltiming forums. I have browsed through your forums and already found very interesting topics. We are currently travelling through...
Hi Everyone, I would like a small collaspable, light deck to carry in the 8' truck bed. It would have sit beside the fw hitch and not be in the way when traveling. Has anyone done this? I would like to build it myself but if there is a slick unit out there already I would consider buying it. It would only n...

Hi all, I have posted our first years operating costs. Because others shared their information to help me make my decision, I wanted to pay it forward a bit. Tons of detail..probably too much lol. Anyways if interested you can check it out at http://camperchronicles.com/2016/01/09/first-y...
Dave has another question regarding inbed fuel tanks. What are your thoughts on auxiliary fuel tanks versus a transfer tank? Is one better than another? Pros and cons of each? Thanks! Candy
We just joined the RV-Dreams group. Have a 2000 R-Vision Condor Class A Motorhome. 34ft. long, 1 slideout, 454 chevy fuel injected gasser, low miles(10,276). Been to Cherokee, NC and San Antonio, TX on trips. Love our class a. 2016 trip planned for September 2016.
OverviewThe intent of the post is design considerations for a tow vehicle when compared to the ultimate tow vehicle a class 8 semi. Although I may reference one of the big three the intent is not to bias any manufacturer. Sorry this is long but that is how I roll.Engine The engine is proba...
Ok this might be a stupid question but since we are new to having the fifth wheel, I would rather be safe than sorry. We are planning our 3 1/2 month workamping trip in the NW next year and there will be a couple nights we will just pull in to sleep. We do not want to unhook at a pull through site, can we put out ou...
We're newlyweds with a good-size (but friendly) pup who were transferred recently to the south San Jose area. Having determined that our living budget only allowed us the worst of apartments, we bought a brand new travel trailer and a TT membership. We're in our first week at the Morgan Hill TT, and d...
I've seen lots of questions about how to determine the correct tire pressure for RV tires - but I haven't yet found an explanation of WHY you should inflate the tires to less than max pressure if you have more tire capacity than weight on them. In our case, we had a wheel-by-wheel weighing done on our 5th w...
While we were researching the fulltime RV life style we spent countless hours on Linda & Howards sites and expense pages as well as other RV'ers out there and found them very helpful. In return we have done a yearly update on our experience on the road the last 3 years in hope it might help even one p...
First, thanks on advance for sharing your experience. I'm a newbie; have never pulled anything other than a friend's landscaping trailer. I was at the Spring Rally last year and learned a lot plus additional online research but nothing beats experience. I'm a solo female planning to FT for up to t...

My faith in good ,honest repair trucks has been renewed!!!! I lost a rear brake line on my 40' DP.....my heart sank as I thought what it was going to cost to have a Fleet Mechanic come out here in the middle of nowhere and do the work or worse tow it in to a shop and have me at there mercy.. Well today the truck ca...
I've been "hanging out" here for a few months and finally decided to join. My name is Suzie. I'm an accountant and Hubby is a retired firefighter. We've been talking about "doing the RV thing" for about 10 years. We were actively looking at it about 8 years ago and had a 2 year time f...
Anyone out there with great RVing photos? Would love to hear from you if you have boondocking adventure images. If there is solar involved even better. thx Karen
We made it to Quartzite and have set out our virtual RV Tech sign. We are in La Posa South, but of course he can come to you, so if you have an RV problem and would like to support a fellow Dreamer give Lee a call at 603-313-0524. If you just want to stop by and say hi we are roughly at GPS coordinates N 33 degre...
Come meet Chris & Cherie of Technomadia. We'll be hanging out at Beer Belly Bar in Quartzsite for a couple hours - if you're in the area and would like to say 'hi' - stop on by. Nothing formal, no big 'gathering' or presentation. Just a chance to share a hug and say hi. Feel free to stop by, hang out, gra...
I am curious, what do people do after they give up RVing? Most FT's have sold their home and has been on the road for a loong time I really haven't heard of people living in their RV till they die. So something changes... And what if one dies and that leaves the other to manage all these... When do you stop FTi...
Our BBQ is giving out on us and DH saw an add for a Cookair Portable BBQ Grill (http://www.cook-air.com ) like this one. Just wondering if anyone has one. It appears to be a very RV friendly grill.
Hello ... I'm not even a part-time rver yet but I've been thinking/dreaming/wanting to for so long, since 1999 in fact. Should have done it then! Now, however, I'm on SSD have some disabilities (well duh SSD) ... anyway, I want to do this so badly, but I don't know that I have the financial structu...
I don't enjoy posting sad news. My only sister died yesterday AM! Yes she has been in the throes of dementia since around 2010 after her open heart surgery! I can't make it as the services are this Tuesday. It will be a somber time for me! Need some cheering up.
