Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
The subject line kinda says it all. The Diplomat is 40PDQ, I believe.....has the fourth slide but is $11,000 more w/twice the miles. RE the Ventana 3631, should I be concerned with mid-decade Spartan's after the Rexhall lawsuit? Cheers K
I just know (ha..ha) that all of you are so anxious to experience winter in snow country. When we came to Colorado last year (2014), we knew we would be spending at least a couple of winters in Colorado. Even though I have vacationed in Colorado ever since I was a little tyke, I'd never really seen the st...
Good morning, everyone, I searched the forum on bike racks and didn't find anything newer than over a year ago. I thought I'd share what I've learned from my recent experience and research... As all of you already know, the ride on the back of a fifth wheel or travel trailer can be pretty brutal. The manu...
Hi all, We're planning our first long cross country mid November and plan to end up in Las Vegas by mid December. I think the RVSEF is holding weighing event in Texas early next year. Although we weighed everything we put into our 5er and took it to a local scrap yard scale to get a handle on our total weig...
Our dream is slowly becoming a reality... My wife and I purchased a new Grand Design Solitude 366DEN over Thanksgiving weekend. YA HOOO! Got a great deal! The Dealer is storing the unit for us over the winter and we will have it delivered in the spring to start loading up with all of the essentials. I woul...
Hello Everyone, After almost a year of planning, searching literally hundreds of sites, blogs and RV options, and going to dealers and RV shows I bought me a fifth wheel. I am doing this on a step by step basis, my rental lease is not up until January 31st so I decided to buy it now and begin moving into it s...
The Work Kamping position we filled in for is going to be posted for next year and since we had a wonderful experience thought I would throw it out there. We are at a Day park and the only site in the park. Our responsibilities are to walk a small piece of the trail daily, open and shut the gates in the morni...
We are looking for a used Artic Fox or Open Road TT. I have NOT been able to find either one within a 8hrs. drive of us in Louisiana. Anyone have any other suggestions? Not an Airstream, but one that has a better build than most? We are open. We now have an Evergreen, and has been given to our son, but I ca...
I was wondering if some of you could give us some info regarding the timeline process for starting change of residency. We are currently in PA and looking to list house in February. Because of PA insurance which would be ridiculous for us we are changing our home domicile to Florida (St Brenden's...
When Julie M became my boss from hell I was very lucky to be able to retire from a job I truly enjoyed in Jan 2012 after completing our 20 plus year careers in Talahassef FL working for the Department of children and families, sold our house/belongings bought a Ram 3500 and DRV fiver and hit the roa...

This is probably covered elsewhere, so forgive me - we are planning to change our residency to Texas in June 2016. We chose Texas over SD primarily for insurance reasons as my wife will not be Medicare eligible for another couple years and I've been reading that SD is not a good place for residency as...
We have been concerned about if we were involved in an accident while out of the RV no one would know (till its too late) to check on our feathered kids and where the RV was parked. After looking over many samples (primarily for cats and dogs), we decided to make our own version. Our emergency contact card...
I'm starting the research for my first ever RV purchase. It will be for living in, but it will be stationary 90% or more of the time. I'm in school, so it's for local living (and I have multiple options for parking it permanently). I don't have the budget for new (no one's going to give a loan to a college stu...
Hey, everyone! I am so excited that Flippin' RVs is back tomorrow, Wednesday, December 2 on Great American Country! It begins at 9/8PM CT. Did anyone else watch this earlier this year? -- Edited by Dgregg on Tuesday 1st of December 2015 06:50:39 PM
We are giving our current TT to our son. We are looking for a new/used TT. Love the Airstream, but to be big enough for our family, the price is prohibitive. Would like someone to give us some ideas on what is out there that has been built to stand the test of time. Weight would NOT be a problem, we have a F350...
We are seeking a Work Camping couple to help us through the 2016 season. We are a Trout Fishing Resort in The Ozark Mountains of North Central Arkansas. We have a small campground and cabins along the White River, near the Buffalo River. We're looking for a couple that's not quite ready for the rocking...
I finally started a blog to document the restoration of the 1974 Semaphore Caboose travel trailer. It can be found here. http://semaphorecaboose.blogspot.com/ WARNING! Photo heavy, and I tend to get long-winded at times. Edit by moderator: Activated link. Terry-- Edited by Terry and Jo on T...
Anyone else getting security warnings trying to access freecampsites.net? I've never had an issue before but I'm getting security warnings on both IE and Chrome.
Greetings - We're new to RVing and want to plan an 8 or so day trip to Michigan's UP this coming summer. Anyone have a favorite itinery they could share? Thanks in advance! Carol
We were all set to punch out and go full time in 3-4 months. However I received a call the other day offering me a position and promotion in Corpus Christi, TX which is too good to pass up. So, we are still going to go full time in the 5er but I will continue to work and we will relocate to Texas. Does anyone...
Our SureFlo water pump usually purrs/humms when it ran and stopped once pressurized. We had good water pressure and life was good. Then it started pulsating when it ran and the water pressure really dropped. I replaced the pump and all was good again for a couple of months, now this new one is doing the s...
We’re full timers domiciled in Box Elder, SD. Our 2007 5th wheel is equipped with the Winegard Movin’ View Digital Satellite mobile antenna for use while stationary (model MV3500A). We have never had satellite service before so we have no previous experience or knowledge of the technology invol...
I'm a planner, always have been, probably always will be. I always have a plan A, plan B and sometimes plan C. Well, this time we've made it all the way to plan F and it's been a frustrating journey. We had planned on vacation in the Grand Canyon and then 4 more stops before flying out of Phoenix for our fa...
Fred and I spent the Summer in the Canadian Maritimes. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend it. We picked up a lot of travel brochures and maps to help us plan our trip. I would be happy to send them along to anyone planning a trip in that area.
I got lost in the time frame; that is part of being retired!! It has been in the 80-90's up until the last couple weeks of October; now reality is setting in as mid-Nov. is passing us by. Down in the upper 20's by this coming weekend as we get prepared for Thanksgiving!Speaking of that; I am grateful to be...
Ok, so here we go... DH and I have been married just over 20 years. We are coming out of a bankruptcy early 2017. At that point, everything we have will be paid for free and clear. Including the house we've been living in our entire marriage, and he has had for 30+ years. We have a small TT that we've had fo...
Wife and I just ordered a new Solitude 379FL last week, this is 1/4 of our plan to be full timing in 2018 when i can retire. Earlier this year we bought a new tow vehicle(F350 DRW diesel which was 1st quarter of the plan) and have used it to travel to South Dakota and back to Maryland via New York this past late...
