Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I just moved into my RV...I do still have to work for another 5 years BUT my used 5er I bought came into a problem: the hot water went out right in the middle of me trying to do dishes. WELL... the park manager referred me to the work camper saying he was certified... He came over with his wife and looked at i...

Dan and I have owned a lot at Cedar Key RV Resort in Cedar Key, FL since 2012. Since we have a vested interest in the park, I volunteered to post the ad on RV Dreams. The resort is looking for a new management team and has posted the following ad recently on various websites.....We are an upscale, well ma...
I have not heard much mentioned in various blogs about any concern or problems with crime while fulltiming. Concern over personal protection is something that all travelers have to be aware of and are not unique to RVers, but property protection would appear to be an additional concern to fulltime...
I have a ME 2012 magnum inverter charger. Manufacture date 1st qtr 2012. Includes remote panel and battery sensor. $500.00 or best offer. We are in Quartzsite. If interested E-mail me at tdinsp@yahoo.com
The campground we currently live in occasionally has the water go out or lose pressure. I'd like to keep our tank filled for these inopportune times. In using the FWT, does that mean the gray tanks must be closed to retain water while the heater is on? Can I just close the tanks when the temperature falls...
I am trying to come up with a realistic budget for FT living. After looking at the numbers, I now see I have to find some ways to trim it! My question is this, couldn't I just use my tablet with a data plan for my internet and forego all the rest of the equipment/expense? I could use Wi-Fi when available in...
2 Questions:Does anyone have a good site or app to appraise my RV for selling? As a full timer, what are the advantages to private selling vs. trade in?
I'm not sure I'm in the correct category, but I need input from those of you who have experience with RV washers and dryers. Our new rig is, hopefully, in the final stages of being modified for us. The washer and dryer from our old (new) rig were recently moved into the new rig. The door swing will not work...
I've re-written this post a hundred times cause I didn't want to sound to terribly morbid lol But, has anything happened that made you seriously re-evaluate full timing and going back to sticks & bricks? Point blank, I am scared if I die or DH dies, what will happen to the other. Going from a paid f...
This is a beautiful unit with a spacious split floor plan, elegant finishes, and is priced to sell fast! This is a perfect RV for those who: are upgrading from a starter RV, don’t want to pay for the 10% or more depreciation that happens the minute you drive it off the lot, don’t want to pay the higher stic...
I'm just researching motorhomes at this point. I've been in several and looked at lots of pictures. They usually have nice upholstery, wood finishes, fixtures, etc. and are mostly quite attractive and pleasing environments. However, I have some art that I want to keep and have in my living space...
we will be picking up our new trailer in Junction city KS, in mid to late March. Does anybody have any suggestion for camp grounds that time of year as we head home to Mass. I would like to plane on driving no more than 300 miles a day as I get use to driving our new 43' fifth wheel, have never had anything this b...
Yep now we have gone and done it ....Traded in our 2014 Trilogy and our 2012 Ram 3500 DRW 4 x 4 on Saturday While we are in Florida for a months break went to a show at Daytona Motor Speedway and lo and behold there was our new rig (ok we just didn't know it that minute) but 4 hours later we were the owners of a 2016...
Just spoke with one of the park manager on Thursday and he said they are going to start filling openings next month. They give the returning people till the end of December to let them know if they are planning to return. So if you have an interest in Hosting at a Montana State Park I would suggest you conta...
Just spoke with one of the park manager today and he said they still have a few opening for host in Western Montana. They gave the returning people till the end of December to let them know if they are planning to return. So if you have an interest in Hosting at a Montana State Park I would suggest you conta...
So after a year I finally tackled the job of emptying the black and grey tanks and truly it was not that bad. This completes one of my "big three" concerns about what would happen to me if Lee was incapacitated in some way. Next up learning to hitch/unhitchc the truck comfortably by myself a...
Have been researching class As for 6 months and following the RV-Dreams family for 4 years. My purchase will be used part time at first, but when I lose my elderly mother, which is far into the future I will go full time with my two dogs. Want my RV to "last" for at least 10 to 15 years. I am 62, in go...
Hi - We are getting down to the wire to buy our fifth wheel for full timing. Have done lots of research on most of the manufacturers talked about here on the forum but found a Highland Ridge at a dealership when we went to look at a Heartland Gateway yesterday. I had not done any research on this model. It w...
It is time to renew my SD license for the first time. I read that I could get them online once every 10 years and have processed the application. I recieved an email that requested proof of residence and proof that we have been in SD within the last 12 months. How have other full time rvers handled this?
Well, we have purchased a 2005 Winnebago Journey 36G and love it. We did much research on different models and really love this floor plan. Amazingly we found a great deal on a one owner coach close by in Prescott, AZ (we live in Tubac, south of Tucson). We are having a great time making it 'ours' as we get r...
Hi All, We (my wife and will be 2 year old) are looking to hit the US in a couple of years and all going well (VISA's) hope to spend 1 year to 18 months travelling in an RV, seeing and doing as much as we can. I have always loved the US and the people and have visited a few times over the years. we both decided to tak...
I'm researching motorhomes and investigating Diesel vs Gas, etc. When I was a kid, diesel fuel was cheaper than gas, but it's not anymore. I understand the puts and takes for diesel over gas. Less maintenance required, but more expensive maintenance. Diesel vehicle costs more up front. Etc. E...
We are planning a long 6 month stay in Europe next spring. Has anyone here either rented or purchased an RV there? Or have you shipped your own RV over there? Love to hear experiences, suggestions, prices, referrals....what ever might help us make decisions about our travel there.
