Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I am currently planning to start full-timing in the next few years. I am 60-something, single and mostly retired. I live with my Pa, who is 90, and help him take care of his household. I'll be staying put as long as he is with me. (My brother and his son also live with us.)
My main hobby is touring on my Can-Am Spyder. My longest tour was to Alaska this summer and it's killing me that I am limited to driving my cager until Spring. When I go full-time I plan to follow the warm weather so I can extend my riding season.
I have considered, in turn, bumper-pull toy haulers, 5th wheel toy haulers, toy-hauler motorhomes, and, now, conventional motorhomes pulling a trailer to carry my Spyder. I'll be asking lots of questions about selecting an RV and about the experience of maintenance, etc. Pa has extensive experience with motorhomes, at one time owning three of them. I mostly remember that he spent a lot of time tinkering with them. However, I'd have to hire any repairs, etc., and don't want to have to constantly be fixing something. So I'll want advice on which brands/models best lend themselves to holding up to full-time use for 10-20 years.
I am looking forward to getting to know y'all better!
