Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I'm not sure I'm in the correct category, but I need input from those of you who have experience with RV washers and dryers.
Our new rig is, hopefully, in the final stages of being modified for us. The washer and dryer from our old (new) rig were recently moved into the new rig. The door swing will not work in the new rig because it is a different model/floor plan and the laundry area is in a different place. Even though we were told the door swing can be changed, it cannot. That will NOT work for me. So, my question to you is... is there an RV stackable W/D available on the market that has doors that open from the left-hand side? We currently have the Splendid Ariston 2100 models. I would appreciate your recommendations, and comments if it is a brand other than Splendide. Many thanks!!
Sorry I have no RV related knowledge, but some(most?) residential units have the ability to reverse the swing on the door by popping some kind of clip in the door hinge so it can swing from the other side. Perhaps this is so for RV W/Ds also?

Yes they do, Brian, and I know what you are talking about, but I need a set for our rig. I can't live without them and I need to have information and options to provide the factory . Thanks for taking the time to reply, though !
Jo, I think Whirlpool has a dryer that opens on the left side, but washer looks like it opens right side, Speed queen makes a stackable that opens on left side (hinge on the right)

My Mom has the apartment size Whirlpool that opens that way. She likes the set - I've been using them since we got here.
whats the model number as iam interested in a left side opening small washing machine also.I have researched this ideal methodically and cant find a RV sized washing
I have the Whirlpool and the washer opens right to left and the dryer left to right.
I don't recommend Whirlpool as they will not warranty the washer/dryer because they are in a RV. We had trouble with ours and when repairman came out, said he wouldn't service because in a RV. Called Whirlpool and they said they didn't have to service because unit in a RV. If I wanted service, I had to take out and have waiting outside the coach when a repairman arrived.

I am glad yours has worked fine. Mine hasn't, and Whirlpool wouldn't honor the warranty because it was in a RV.

There is no perfect product and failures do happen unfortuneatly. ALL whirlpools Factory installed by TIFFIN Motorhomes were warrented by whirlpool. Cant speak for after the fact installs
HHHHmmmmm.......unless it is stated in the written warranty, if its in your coach and was installed to mfg specs. its under warranty !!!.........now being a repairman in my working life what probably happened is the repairman didnt want the hassle or liability of working on it in the coach and blew you off.........trust me , if you call the mfg. and push the issue they will repair it or replace it.......
it was installed by the coach Mfg......they bought the product direct from the appliance Mfg. so everyone in the loop knew it was being installed in there.....

Mmmm... Thanks everyone for the input. I haven't read many good reviews about the Whirlpools, and the Speed Queens are too expensive. So, I think I am going to stick with my Splendide. They are not quite as powerful as a regular washer/dryer, but that is OK. Although it takes a little more time to wash and dry, all I have is time, right? I will see how everything works out when I do begin washing again IN OUR NEW HOME! (Check out my blog!)

I pushed the issue all the way up the ladder with Whirlpool customer service that I could. Starting with initial call and going up through 3 different reps I got the same response. Even though it is a unit designed for RV's they don't have to service it because it is in an RV. There is a clause in the warranty that says they don't have to work on it if it is in an enclosed space, a closet. I asked how that differed from an apartment model in a closet and they said because it was in an RV. I argued the point and got the same answer all the way up the ladder. I was told every time if I take the unit out of my coach they would work on it.
I finally got it to dealer and they removed it and tech came out to work on it. By this time my washer was out of warranty. Even though I had documented calls with Whirlpool, I was then denied warranty because of time. To make matters worse, tech still couldn't fix washer, makes a banging noise when in spin cycle. Tech said normal and $90 service call. Even my dealer argued they have never heard a washer like this, tech said couldn't do anything for it.
To the op. Good luck with your Splendide, they will be our next rig.
