Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We have been searching for a while now for what will be our next rv and first fulltiming or snowbirding rv. Nothing stood out from the pack and of course there was always some disappointment that we couldn't seem to find what we deemed the perfect unit for us. Until.......... the Boston RV Show! We enter...

We are not exactly keeping our plans secret now. I guess you could say we are discussing it out loud and as word makes it way around town, "Yeah, we are doing that" and there you go. I have been working on the purging process. A little everyday, cause of course we do have AWHILE to go. Still w...
A couple of days ago we had a fire in the Suburban Hot Water Heater in our 2012 NH ! I was at my workamping position and Anne was just getting ready to leave for some errands when she heard some odd cracking/popping noise from under the kitchen sink area (location of water heater). When she looked over she t...

Hi Howard, I know you have great expertise in researching various issues. My concern is, as an early retireee, I have been relying on ACA, which at least provides catastrophic health insurance coverage, if not much else, and the premiums have been manageable. However, as pensions and SS kick in...
One of the factors that we checked on before buying our Foretravel was how active the owners forum was. While we were researching I joined several brand-specific forums so that I could ask questions about the brands we were considering. Some brands don't have owners forums, some forums aren't very a...
Posted a while ago about your knowledge of used travel trailers. Got the names of a few better ones. Have a possible Artic Fox to look at in Houston. All the rest I could find are on the west coast. This is a 2007. What I need is information from anyone that could give me the name of a certified inspecto...
We will start the FT dream in a couple years but am wondering about buying used first. Do we buy a several-years-old 'used' middle-of-the-road, less expensive rig (and learn on it and make the mistakes on that one) and then trade up to what we really want, or do we go ahead and buy a really-nice-alm...
To all the Nascar fans out there~ I started a league on Nascar Fantasy called...(wait for it)... A Coastal RV..lol. Anyway I did this last year to great results and some friendly competition. They also have live chat... so for the snowbirds that left the RV park it was almost like sitting around the...
I have a 2002 Pace Arrow 37ft motor home. I went to Camping World to get a bid on getting a towing packaging for a toad. The quote was $5,800 !!! I do believe that the last owner had a toad because I see that there is a Prodigy Electronic Brake Control System mounted on the dash. If the last owner had a toad,...
Let me start by saying we are leaning to a 5er, however one should keep all options open so.... With regard to used motorcoaches, I'm trying to get a handle on how little annual mileage is considered to be "adequate exercise" for the mechanicals, suspensions etc. of a used MH, diesel or gas...
We all know the immense advantages of being able to throw caution to the wind and hit the road travelling our wonderful continent but ............ Curious what your biggest fears were and how you got over them prior to finally taking that leap of faith into FT RVing? Likewise since you've been FT (ho...
I bought a Class A RV this past Fall so I am a newbie going into 2016. I wanted to get an idea of when to Un-Winterize my RV. I am located in IL so if there is anyone in the midwest it would be good to know what your opinion is on this. I want to start using my RV as soon as I can. My thoughts are sometime in Mid t...
Howdy everyone, I'm 25 years old, and my husbands (27) job requires moving every 6-9 months. We take trips in-between jobs but I'm always looking for ways to maximize our income during the lulls. I'm a freelance writer and I'm sure a lot of you are aware, writers make GREAT money (sarcasm). I found t...
My wife and I are signed up for Howard and Linda's Boondocking rally in Tallahassee in March. I hadn't used our fifth wheel since this past Fall. I have had the 12volt battery at home inside out of the heat and cold since then. The volt meter reading before I put it on my charger was 11.1, then I put my bat...
Well, all in New England knew the weather into February was just too good to be true and so..........Here we are again with a storm and then snow showers every day adding slightly a few more inches to whatever is already on the ground. Tony and I are finding it almost unbearable to be dreaming of retireme...
I found this video about a self feeding fire, looks awesome if you have to patience to assemble it! Anyone ever tried this or something like this? Thanks! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejfSv3raPDo&app=desktop
The DW and I have already decided once she retires we're going to give fulltiming a try. We're looking at using a 5th wheel unit. The only concern the DW has is that if for some reason we decide that fulltiming isn't for use we'll have over $120.000 invested in a unit we'll end up using on vacations and mayb...
wondering if anyone knows of a gadget that monitors the level of propane in a tank. seems funny that I have all kinds of monitors for other things in the RV but not for tanks...thanks!!!

We called our auto insurance company and they told us that the F450 was classified as commercial vehicle and that it would be $2,400 a year! We called our old insurance (State Farm) and they gave us a figure of about $1,300 a year and did not mention anything about it being commercial. We would love to kno...

Hi All, we are in the very early stages of planning our big USA OE (overseas excursion) and want to know if anyone has driven the Outer Banks Scenic Byway? How long would you expect to take? Are there many places to stop with an RV? Can a RV even drive this road? Is this a road even worth doing? Thanks in adva...
Taking a poll here…what lifetimes are ya'll seeing on your Never Lube bearings. Our 39 foot New Horizon has triple axles and is 22,000 pounds loaded. In the 4.5 years since delivery in June 12 we've got about 38,000 towing miles. We'll be in Valparaiso in May to pick up our new RAM 5500HD and can either ge...
