Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Linda, I tried to make your no bake chocolate peanut butter oatmeal all that stuff cookies and they didn't work. WAAAA! What did I do wrong? The "cookies" (you can't really call mine that) are gooey, chewey, like a raw dough would be.
In addition to your recipe fo...
Okay now that Howard and I are stationary for awhile, should we be opening and closing our slides from time to time? I have heard that you should do this to keep them in good working order. I am curious to see how many people bring their slides in from time to time?
Is there anything e...
Not sure if technology on the road is the right place for this question, but here goes...
It's time for replacement tires on my 2002 F250 7.3 diesel. I pull a 33'8" fiver, weighs appx 13,500 loaded. What tires would you recommed for my truck?

Well what is the general feeling after seeing the first episode last night.
Splitting them into ethnic groups could be interesting. Cowboy of the Asian group seems to be an interesting character - what do you all think?
And how about the white group, at it already .......somebody please bring th...
I'm somewhat new at this so here goes again. Would like opinions on 2WD tow vehicle versus 4WD tow vehicle. Pro's and Con's of both as a fulltime unit. -- Edited by Racerguy at 20:45, 2006-10-23
I just switched from Dish to Direct TV. I already had Dish in the MH with a crank up dish on the roof and a portable dish. (Wanted Dish in the house, but they wouldn't give me the free install, so Hello Direct!)
Direct came and installed their system in my house and I had an extra box "install...
DO ANY OF THE CG OFFER CHURCH SERVIVES? WHEN OUR BOYS WERE YOUNGER AND CAMPING WITH US, WE STAYED AT SEVERAL CG THAT OFFERED CHURCH SERVICES. WE WOULD REALLY MISS NOT GOING TO CHURCH   &nbs...
I just read Fred's response to Ann's "Using a new library" post in the "Around The Campfire With Linda" section and it reminded me of an idea I had several years ago, but hadn't figured out out to implement.
Would RV'ers like to trade DVD or VCR movies sometimes? That would...
Hello All:
We are looking at a new 2007 diesel "pusher". But, there is something that worries me. I was hoping that the vast brain trust that is RV-Dreams could help find the solution. Almost every gas station where I've stopped for fuel has a warning on the pump that says the dies...
Is my TV trying to tell me I'm a few brances short of having a full bush ?
While I wait to fly out to the daughters in Marina Del Rey for the holidays, I'm at home getting the MH ready to become an orphan for a couple months ( getting any all groceries out that might freeze)...
My wife, Linda and I are retired and live full-time in Naples, FL. We have a 36' Monaco Knight diesel pusher motorhome and just completed a month-long 3400 mile trip yesterday.
We have been rving since the mid-1970's when we started out with a 13' Wilderness travel trailer, followed by 2 Clas...
Hi Iam living in a 36 ft fiver with my husband and our htree dogs, one cat. all which will be traveling down the road in about 4mon and 11 days from now. I have been getting mixed feelings about leaving my family ,but I guess they will pass . We love the rv.dream .com journal We read it daily.
Just wanted everyone to know about a HUGE problem we had with Carefree of Colorado with our slide covers. We ordered our slide covers over a month ago and finally made it back to our dealer to have the covers installed. When the installation started the dealer realized that the mounting h...
I have been hearing a lot about bigfoot levers lately. I was curious if these automatically level your rig for you or are they hydraulic and save you from cranking. How would the levelers know when your trailer is level? Is it a system that includes leveling sensors of some sort? Does anyone know what ri...
I carry a can of silicone spray in my wet bay. Every once in a while, after I've openned the valve, a spray a little silicone on the metal shaft, then open and close the valve a couple of times. You'll be amazed at how easy the valve will open after that.
Best Regards!
Hmmm, where do we get to ask questions of Howard, or actually both Howard and Linda? This time I want to know what kind of camera Howard is using. He has gotten REALLY good at his photography skills. -- Edited by Howard at 15:34, 2007-02-02
We won't be fulltiming until next spring, but the house is almost cleared and ready to go on the market. It sure seems like we have almost everything needed for the 5th wheel and truck so I need some help. What ideas do you have for Christmas gifts (or any other special day) for the guys in our lives t...
I now own my first truck. A Dodge 2500 turbo diesel. A friend reccommended i have an exhaust brake and a "chip" installed to help with performance. I also visited with a local mechanic and he further suggested i have my muffler removed and use "straight piping exhaust" Not being mechanical at all and no...
After reading Howard's journal today, I wondered if they make tie-downs for RVs that you can use in areas that are prone to high winds...like out West. I don't know how hard they would be to apply and use??
How many of you guys use the tri-pod stablizer thing that you put under the hitch on fifth wheels?...
Where does one go about getting a trailer weighed? I have weighed my trailer while it was attached to my truck, but I did not unhitch since it didn't seem appropriate to tie up the weighing platform at the truck stop while I made a fool of myself taking forever to hitch up again. But I don't ha...
Linda, have enjoyed lots of the pictures of birds, butterflies, etc., but have not noticed any entry on your putting up your hummingbird feeder. While in Anza Borreago, CA. last winter, we had just set up and were sitting, resting a bit, when we had our first visit of a hummer. She flew away, giving us a m...
I am working to build a LAN on my RV.
The reason is that my wife and I am still working.
We both work for the same company. We both have laptops. Occasionally, we work at home.
When we work at home, we connect to our home LAN, which consists of a Linksys Router connected via Bellsouth DSL...
I was reading Tab's post about his GPS taking him down a really scary road with his fiver. It was quite a laugh.
What has been your scary road trip?
I took my two boys in our first MH, a 21 ft Class A on an all guys trip to visit King's Dominion in VA. I decided to get a campsite at the nea...
I thought I would open this item to relat eot you folks an incident that occurred to us that caught me totally off guard. Now we have been RVing for many years and this is a new one on me.
While driving between Texarkana and Livingston Texas my wife, who was driving at the time, noticed that the awning o...
Well, it happened today. DISH Network stopped our NY feed for distant network channels. Can someone tell me if our KVH auto dish can be converted to DirectTV?
We all had to start somewhere, do you have any fond memeories of your first RV?
We loved looking at all the RV's when we took our kids camping in our tent and wished for the day we could afford one. However, on a military salary with three kids, a new or even late model RV was not in the cards.

Not new to fulltiming, but still learning. We sold our home in Grants Pass Oregon in 2003 and have been on the road since then. We have enjoyed every minute of it so far, so I guess we will keep doing it. We are in Deming NM now and head to Tucson, AZ on Thursday. We will stay there until Dec 4th at which time we w...
