Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

My wife, Linda and I are retired and live full-time in Naples, FL.  We have a 36' Monaco Knight diesel pusher motorhome and just completed a month-long 3400 mile trip yesterday.


We have been rving since the mid-1970's when we started out with a 13' Wilderness travel trailer, followed by 2 Class C motorhomes in the 80's and 90's.  After several years of no rv, we bought our first Class A last year.


At the moment, we're not sure we want to full-time in the motorhome, although we would like to be able to travel for 3-4 months during the summer to get away from the Florida humidity and hurricanes!


Thanks to Howard and Linda, we have learned many things about full-time rving and now this new forum will open up many more opportunities for education in this area.

We live in The Villages, FL and are considering full timing.  HOWEVER...we've visited a few so called RV parks in Florida (trying to find a home base for the winter) and have seen a lot of junkie places with park models and what one could refer to as "trailer trash".  These are not the kind of places we want to spend 3 or so months in.  Of course, we don't want to have to spend "a million $$$s" for a lot either!!!!  Do you have any good/favorite Florida places to visit and/or stay for a few months?

I just sent you an PM reply with more information.


I forgot to mention Crystal Lake RV Resort in Naples.  It is very nice, but pricey.  Last season's rates for January/February were $1600/month for a lake site and $1450/month for an off lake site.  It is first class with large concrete pads, full underground utilities and 2 clubhouses and 2 pools around a large lake.  No "trailer trash" in this place!  It's only about 3 miles east of I-75 at Exit 111.


They may be booked up for this season, but wouldn't hurt to call them 239-348-0017

Try New Mexico its has hardly any humidity and no hurricanes, and very few bugs. We love it there even though we are traveling full time it shall always be our RV summer home.

After a life time in Florida, we second Arizona and New Mexico. Finally could not stand the heat and humidity and left Clearwater, FL. Anyone want to buy a house??? This is our first winter out and of all the spots along I-10, Las Cruces and Tucson are very nice. Cottonwood, Az is a super place too.

We are looking forward to winter in Southern California and the left coast.

We've only been here in Naples for 5 years, but have to agree about the humidity, especially the long summers!  We sure like the warm weather here in the winter though so would not want to be anywhere else from November to April.  After a lifetime of winters in Chicago and Cleveland we don't care to experience anymore below freezing temps or snow storms!


We're looking forward to many summers traveling the Pacific Northwest, New England and other great places where we can enjoy cool, dry weather and the beautiful scenery these areas offer for our pleasure.
