Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Bill, Diane, and Evita the cat's Travels is our journal and website. Right now it is about 98% a journal (blog) and about 2% other content. Once I get the rest of our 2004 travels documented I have some more informational content to add, mostly on RVing. The websi...

Hey All! Just read post in full-time living about making reservations and how most of you all don't worry too much about calling and reserving ahead. That sure alleviates some of the worry. But what about in Alaska ???? I'd think you would have to call far in advance, and make reservations at t...
In Rockport we have had lots of rain and cold temperatures. We have had 2 instances here and one before we came here where there was a lot of rain and the rug under our table became wet. We can find no where it is coming in, however after taking the bottom panel off under the refrigerator and moving the cha...

Hi All,
What photo software or online program do you use to organize your photos while on the road? I have Kodak Easy Share and HP Image Gallery and I'm not 100% sold on either one. We are not fulltiming yet, but I'm getting ready for the day and have lots of photos to scan and organize. I'd appreciate f...
Anyone out there fulltime or spend much time in a Scamp 5er or similar size trailer? I'm about a 3/4 timer and for the most part there's just me and my hound. Presently have a 28' TT, but want to significantly go smaller. Thanks, Larey
Just returned from a vaction in Ft Wilderness. Had a wonderful time visiting Cousin Mickey. On the trip down, I stopped at a rest area at night to run the engine and circulate the transmission fluid in my 03 Honda Element (Automatic Trans). The battery was dead. I chalked it up to having left the blow...
My wife and I were looking around the stick house, trying to decide what we will do with all our pictures and nicknacks hanging on the walls. Does anyone hang pictures on the walls of your RV? Do you have to take them down when you hit the road or is there ways to secure them to stay put? ...
I am Sue (bearlady) from Florence, Oregon. My husband Randy and I have been planning for full-timing since December 2003. We sold our home in June of 2004 and moved into our 5th wheel in July 2004. April of this year we will begin full-timing in which the 5th wheel will actually move - lol. I have e...
We are Rick and Debi and currently live in Gardner, MA. I am a Police Chief in a metro-west community and Deb is a Lab Tech. We found Howard and Linda's site only last week but, in that short time, have found it to be informative and fun. We will be retiring in three short years and have wanted to be ful...

We're getting ready to go fulltiming, but have not decided yet on a class A Motor Home DP with a toad....VW bug convertible with manual transmission...or a 5th wheel.....and truck. The thing that has us stumped is we need to know if we do decide to stay some place for a month or even longer s...
Hi,
I bought the phone amplifier and antenna recommended by Jack for the trailer, but bought the through the glass model for the truck. I mounted it carefully following the instructions and it seemed to work fine. We went out the next day and shortly afterwards discovered that the antenna had come o...
Here in Michigan we begin to make reservations on Thanksgiving weekend for our beautiful state parks for the following year (6 months in advance). How far in advance do full timers have toplan their trips, make their reservations and how does being tied to this schedule change what you...
I was outside today and saw a group of Robins gathering nesting material from the mulch around a tree. That means SPRING !! Kind of picked my spirits up since we still have snow on the ground and it's freezing cold here in Indiana. I envy all you fulltimers that can chase the warm weather, still anoth...

This past summer we took a trip for a couple of weeks and in two different campgrounds they were set up so that the doors on our rig and our neighbors rig were facing each other. Tony said it's probably set up that way for easier plumbing purposes. The first campground was OK, o...

We all recycle items at home (or did when some of you had a stick home). But when you are in different campgrounds, some do not recycle. I was just down at Disney's Ft. Wilderness this past week and they have nice recycling bins all around the campground, with bins for glass, plastic, aluminum and n...
How often do you have to replace the rubber seal in your toilet so that it holds water? It seems that we have to replace ours yearly. Do you do it yourself or let the dealer do it. Ours is a SeaLand by Dometic.
Well when getting back after the holidays, noticed that a plant left on the finished wood breakfast table had apparently leaked and the honey colored finished table top now has a a white, water spot in the middle. Sitting here trying to figure out the best method of fixing. I could just sand the w...
If we buy from a private seller, do we have to be concerned about sales tax or is that one advantage of a private sale? Thanks in advance for any info! Cindy
