Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
While it's pretty motorcycle owner heavy now, I think it will have value for all of us if we contribute. Those who use them for geocaching and hiking or bicycling as well as driving might find it of interest. Membership is free, hope to see some friendly, familiar faces there! http://forums.delphifo...
I have two books for sale for $5.00 each, whether you buy one or both. Basically I am giving them away and the money is just the mailing cost in a Priority Mail mailer. !) I am so into reading these forums and checking in on the day to day with Howard & Linda. I must be ready for this full timing thing... Actually just thinking of it. Maybe next year. I am going to talk to my husband this weekend about attending the rally. I really think it would be a great place to get...
This morning there was an article in the Ft Worth Star Telegram about Waggin" Train Chicken Jerky Tenders, made by ADI Pets Inc, being dangerous for pets. It said it causes kidney problems and is sold at Walmart and Sam's Club. This link has some info about this treat. Just wanted people to be ale...
Turner Falls Park OK is beautiful, it's off of I-35! However, when you drive down the road into the park, if you are taller than 11 ft, stay to the left or you will get stuck! We paid $25 plus entry fee for electric and water. The park is touristy but very pretty. Our pad was concrete and backed into the t...
Does anyone out there use the DeLorme Street Atlas program on their laptops as their GPS while traveling? If so, what are you thoughts and impressions of the program? Is is user friendly? Any problems?

If you haven't heard of Evert-Fresh Green Bags, they are a reusable storage bag for fruits and vegetables that will extend the life of your produce by 3 to 10 times longer. And they really work! When planning as a current "wannabe" for our FTRVing, I originally thought that the Green Bags...
My name is David Laurita. My wife JoEllen and I are almost in our 4th year of fulltiming. (July 15) We travel south in the winter to Quartzsite, and spend our summers at our new ranch near Westcliffe, Colorado. We started our adventure with the hopes of traveling the US, but with the upward costs of h...
http://www.hitchcrafters.com/ Just wanted to post a review about a great place if you need a hitch, welding or metal fabrication done in Southern California area. I needed to find a new fifth wheel hitch and contacted several places in the southern California area. I immediately got that "g...
HI: We are the Howeth's. We have been full timers for over 3 years now and are just beginning to scratch the surface of all that this life style entails. We have been long time RVers and full time wannabees but finally the opportunity came and we went for it. I have kept a journal since we started but onl...
Hi everybody, new guy here with a question: Does anyone know if a mercedes 190 with manual transmission (diesel or gas) can be towed all 4 wheels down? Thanks in advance.
We are looking for a campground within 50 miles of the Modesto,California Would like to have full hookups if possible or at least electric (30 to 50 AMP service). Hi everyone. I'm a longtime lurker first time posting. My wife and I are in our mid forties (Howard, you and I share the same birthday and same year) and we are hoping to be fulltiming in about 8 to 10 years. This would be after our son is grown and on his own. We have been talking about doing this for a...
Howard, What happened to the initial RV-Dreams Forum page? There used to be a box there with links to all the most recent unread posts, but it's gone. Did something break, or is that intentional? Thanks, Tim & Robyn
I don't normally get on my soapbox, but I can't let this go any longer. If you have pets---STAY AWAY from Blueberry Hill Rv Park!!! They claim to be pet friendly, I promise you they are not. You should read the letters that they have posted on their bulletin boards about pets. Now, I realize their are...
Yesterday in Howard's Journal, he stated that there were now 20 RV sites available for the RV Dreams Rally in Branson. I know that there are some of you that are trying to decide whether to come or not. Come on! Sign up and lets all get together and meet one another. The people on this forum are really great...
Moved the following to this new topic: Hi Howard, We want to buy a class A, and we are torn between getting a 35' or a 40'. Do you think there will be a big difference in the campgrounds we can fit into? We like the same natural beauty and privacy that you and Linda have usually selected. Thanks. Matt
Hi... I've been around and in the forum several times but now I feel legitimate....we have purchased our new home! We flew out to Phoenix (from Philadelphia) where we bought a 32 foot Excel fifth wheel and a 3500 Dodge Ram. We (husband Lee and I) then drove it back here to my parents house in Maryland. We...
The dude (Jim O'Briant) that runs the Yahoo groups regarding the overnight/walmart parking has finally created a map searchable database and web site of this info. OvernightRVParking.com The important thing to note is that the info here (both on the site and what he had in Yahoo Groups) is verified...
Howard, I am considering creating a website and blog to chart our journey as we tranisition in Full-timing in the next 12-15 months. For now I have dabbled with a google blog (blogspot). I have also checked out MyTripJournal. I like the way your pictures look on your website and your daily journal. ...
We have spent one month on this website, and still don't have every word read, what a great website! We are military retirees 1997 and will retire from a corporate job in May 2012. We decided on full timing in Nov. 2005 after seeing another couple and how they live boondocking only. We can relate...
Hello Everyone! I've gotten word that the Chicago Sun Times is doing an article on full-timing. They would like to interview Chicago-area full-timers. If you are interested, let me know. I was a little slow getting this posted, so I'm hoping they haven't already published the article.
Hello! Just found your forum (we love community forums like these) and wanted to introduce ourselves. We are Dan, Jennifer, Mason (8) and Griffin (6) Taylor and while we are on the road fulltime for the next 18 months or so, we are "Driven to Educate". I was working as an Air Traffic Contr...
I seem to remember Howard encouraging us community members to post our budgets, if we were so inclined, to the forums someplace. I guess this is as good a place as any.
Just follow the link to our blog below and visit the Feb 29th 2008 entry. I hope this proves useful to someone.
Well we've made it from Phoenix Az to Maryland and now we have another problem. One of the stablizer jacks won't come down in the back. The motor just makes a grinding sound. The one jack comes down just fine and they both did ok from Az to here, but now that we need to park it for a couple of weeks, the one jack...
Hiya, I am new around so if this is already a topic I apologize. I did look but didn't see anything. I was wondering what your RV is equipt with for cooking. I am aspiring to become a full timer and want to make sure I am doing everything I need to in order to be prepared. I noticed that the majority of RVs only h...
So we thought we were all set with our RV. We've had a 2005 K-Z Durango 5th Wheel for about 2 years that we absolutely love. This fall we bought a new truck (GMC Duramax - 6ft bed) but never tested to see whether it would fit with the RV. It turns out that because of the high sides on the truck bed the hitch o...
