Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
After the rally we are planning on heading into Kentucky. One of our stops is Mammoth Cave. What is the best tour to go on for someone who hasn't been there before but will be a good interduction to the cave. We would probably be looking at a 4 hr. or less tour. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
A friend of a friend has just offered me a very good deal on a four year old coach house platinum 232. Its about a year earlier than I had planned on purchasing an rv, but storage is no problem and I could take short trips.. I had been between a B+/C or one of those new plush truck campers with slides. This...
Am I correct in saying that I do not need the new digital box that is needed for non-digital TV's when using our portable DirecTV dish ? I think both our TV's are non-digital. If the TV's are digital I would assume they say digital on the outside. Is that right? Thanks for your help. Bob
My employer and I are currently discussing options for me to continue working when we begin full-timing next month. I was hoping to possibly stay on at 50-75% because I would still receive partial benefits (medical, dental) although I would lose my employer contributions to my retirement accoun...
I am leaving Tuesday, 3 June for a cross country trip from VA to OR with my son and his family, taking them to his new duty station. I have rented a one-way dolly from U-Haul to tow his front wheel drive car with us. I have never towed a car with a dolly before, all my experience has been towing four down. I'd...
We are looking to get a surge protector for our Fifth Wheel. Do any of you have the SurgeGuard model 34560? What do we need to consider when buying one? Thanks for you help.
Generally, I like Vista from Microsoft, but since it is fairly new there are not a lot of solutions available as there are for Windows. That said, here is my problem: while typing I somehow changed the "Taskbar" at the bottom of the screen so that the icons are very, very small. I have tried t...
We have about a month to go before we move out of our house (rental) and start fulltiming. We had a moving sale this weekend to try to unload most of our stuff. The house was a complete disaster after we emptied desk drawers, dressers, and kitchen cabinets. I could not believe how much stuff we had ac...
Im so glad I found your site! We cannot wait to RV full time! My husband is deployed to Iraq, so we have not been on the road for about 6 mo. now :(, we sure miss it
Background: We have two Sharp Aquos HD LCD televisions hooked up to a Winegard Sensor Antenna and Winegard "Plate" power amplifier. We, also, have a third television hook up in the basement which I assume is "split off" from the cable running to the bedroom television since th...
Just came across this news release and thought I would share it as it might impact your future camping in Arkansas. Tight budgets force changes in Corps park operations
We see all those car commericals on tv and I wonder why we dont see some of the RV industries advertising. Maybe its the cost of the advertising or the cost of fuel nowadays. southwestjudy
Linda and I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend. Please remember the true meaning of the Holiday. Many soldiers have died to keep us free. Why not dig out that American Flag and fly it this weekend?
Just wanted to say HI! We've just recently decided that becoming full time RVers is what our future holds for us! We've owned and enjoyed every type of rig (except As and Bs) up to a 30' fifth wheel over the years. DH has worked at Home Depot for over 17 years and is ready to retire. I have my own busine...

Hello, I originally registered as RangerPaul (my 4X4 handle), but since DW and I like it here, and since we'll be meeting many of you at the rally, we decided to use our real names. Now I gotta find a picture of "da bode uv us" for an avatar! Until then, silliness...
Hubby and I are very excited. He is in the process of completing the sale of his practice and starting July 1st, we will be full-timers. I recently spoke with my employer about telecommuting. I am a SAS programmer/statistical analyst - so my job is ideal for working from the road. My boss didn't se...
One of my dreams is to write the great american novel....well actually not that grandiose of novel, but at least get a novel published along with some short stories. I guess you can say I'm a wannabe writer. Here's where you come in. I recently published two short articles in the RV-Dreams Lifestyl...
Hi Everyone, As a new member, I wanted to tell everyone how pleased I am to find a forum that encourages and educates those who dream of living the RV lifestyle. My name is Ben and my wife, Ruthy and I have been dreaming of getting out of the rat race for the last couple of years, and taking our lives on the roa...
Well, I guess it's time. I'm officially "coming out". We have been forum members since its inception but only started fulltiming 5 months ago. I started a blog but wanted practice before I put it out there. So many of my friends and family say they really enjoy reading about our travels...
Since we have started our journey up the coast starting in Ca. and working our way north we have installed a Banks exhaust brake in our F-550. Our Elite Suites fiver is heavy and it is such an improvement when going down the hills. Be safe in your travels. southwestjudy
Hi all, I just ran across this forum and thought I'd check it out. My wife Penny and I hope to begin full-timing before we have to spend another winter in northern Illinois. We currently pull a 22 foot Skyline Nomad TT with a Ford F250. When it's time to get off the grid, we'll find something better suited t...

Just passing on a couple of tidbits I discovered as the caregiver for my 89 year old Dad. My Dad has dementia but is able to do most common things like getting dressed, shaving, bathing...etc. Mostly has a problem with short term memory. In taking care of him for these past 5 years, I've noticed tha...
