Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Warning!! Blueberry Hill RV Park Bushnell FL

I don't normally get on my soapbox, but I can't let this go any longer.  If you have pets---STAY AWAY from Blueberry Hill Rv Park!!!  They claim to be pet friendly, I promise you they are not.  You should read the letters that they have posted on their bulletin boards about pets.  Now, I realize their are some "bad apple" pet owners out there, but this is being riduculous.  I am now not to allow my dog to "poop" anywhere but on my site as others may find my dog's "pooping" sickening.  Well, I do try to make sure my dogs relieve themselves before walking, but there are no guarantees.  I do pick up after my dog, ALWAYS!  Most recently, we have been informed they will only be allowing one pet per household from this point forward and I have to wonder what's coming down the line next.  My feeling is they really don't want any pets, but are afraid they will lose to much business.  I have no problem with parks that don't allow pets, but please don't advertise you are "pet friendly" and then make my life as a pet owner miserable!  We will not be back and I have spoken to quite a few other pet owners and non-pet owners who are not coming back.  This park is under new ownership and apparently there are those who have been coming here for several years who don't like what they are seeing and hearing.  Thanks for hearing me out---hmm

Good for you!

I've been to RESTRAUNTS that like pets better than some people....these park owners probably are the people they are referring to.

Seriously , I stopped in a little place in Virginia City Nevada and asked if I could sit out on the patio and eat and drink with my dog while I waited for my wife who was shopping.......
the bartender said, bring him in, we like dogs better than people here. And tigger was spoiled by patrons with beef jerky. The sheriff in town, who really wore his sixgun on his leg with a big shinny badge later while we were walking stopped to pet him and a lot of people knew tigger's name................Nobody knew my name?????

I was really worried when I read your post as we had reservations to arrive at this park on April 1.   I had to write that I'm glad we did not change our plans as we are really enjoying this park.   We have a small yorkie-poo that is walked 2-3 times per day and have not had any problems at all.   Our site is at least a dozen sites away from the designated dog walk, our dog sprays on everything between us and doesn't always make it to the dog walk before he takes care of all of his business.   At dusk, the park streets are full of people out walking their dogs and I have yet to witness any issues.   I'm sorry you had such bad treatment but I wanted to share our experience with others thinking of visiting this park.   It is very clean, has great amenities and is within walking distance to Walmart, Dunkin Donuts, Taco Bell, KFC, Wendy's, McDonalds and pizza.

Enjoyed your response, ALSPA!

A few years ago in a Key West campground right down town, that no longer exists, Ethel was not feeling well and suggested that I take Barkley MacTavish, our 90 pound Airedale, for an extended walk.  We took the suggestion, and in walking past a VFW Post (bar) next door, we were invited in.  It seems a number of their regulars there had served together in an outfit that had an Airedale as a mascot.

That evening was unreal!  "Tavi" was definitely a socialite extraordinaire and was made an Honorary Member, and my money was no good at the watering hole.  This was one of those magical times.

Tavi passed on a few years back, but this one story lives on. Your encounter in Virginia City brought back a great memory and warmed the ****les my heart!
