Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
OK, here's my concern. We're getting ready to move for the first time since we moved into our 5th Wheel full time on July 22. We have never moved the trailer since I put everything in it's place. I know I need to protect breakable items on counters and such but my concern is will the doors on the cabinets...
I recently posted information about shutting down the RV-Dreams Lifestyles online magazine. In that post I mentioned that we lost the articles and some of the authors hadn't saved copies on their own. One author in particular saved her articles on her computer, but the computer crashed and she did...
Not to take anything away from the DW, but I am considering a rearview camera to aid in trailer hookups and general backing safety. Does anyone have any preference of camera for this purpose? Wal Mart has one for about $90 with a 2.5" monitor and there are several others for a little more than tha...
Sadly, we lost a member of the RV-Dreams Family this morning. Robyn of Tim & Robyn whom I wrote about in the Journal a few days ago, passed away this morning from respiratory failure. Tim, our hearts are with you.
I know Linda has her beading work that she does, but was wondering if some of you fulltimers can tell what you like to do as far as hobbies go and whatnot.
I noticed a guy here where we are now does woodworking crafts and has a slide under his RV that pulls out has a drill press, band saw (small) and a small ai...
We have been doing our research for RV Insurance and I only have about half the hair left on my head! Why is it that you can call three different places and get three different quotes on the same Progressive policy for the same RV at the same location for the same coverage? (Sorry, a little rant there - I gu...
Hello All I just found this video while I sit here in my sticks n bricks dreaming.... I thought this short video of a fulltimer in Alaska was worth passing on to you.You may need to copy and paste it.. http://vimeo.com/5554080 Let me know what you think:) Dixie
My husband Shelby and I are retiring end of 2011, and hope to be on the road fulltime by late spring 2012. Shelby is in a medevac unit with the Ca. Army Nat'l Guard Reserves and will be deploying to Afghanistan after the first part of 2010, home in March 2011...his 4th and final deployment, yippee! Our p...
I need your experience; not your guess. Sorry to be so fussy, but I am looking for advice based on experience from those who have faced the same situation. We are going to store our coach in Nacogdoches, Texas in an RV storage building for 7 months. We are concerned about humidity. Here are our options: 1...
Hello again! I have another question. We have two very well behaved house cats that have all their shots, ID tags and are harness and leash trained. Do campgrounds charge the same fees for cats as dogs? Do the same restrictions apply (pet friendly)? And any other useful information you may hav...
I follow several blogs of full timers and we are full timer wannabes in waiting. How do those of you who travel do your research for where you are going? Do you rely on a publication? They seem to become outdated frequently and could be expensive to replace. Do you rely on the internet, if so any particul...
Hello, it's the Crazy Lady again with another question. Seeing that we will be vagabonds with our home being the road, how do we determine what state to register and license our coach, trailer and motorcycle in? We don't have any payments. We own everything (what little we have) free and clear. T...
I used this info extensively and found many suprises. Some rigs that I thought were high quality were rated low - other low priced units that I thought weren't so good were rated very well. It was my best recource when selecting a fifth wheel. It was the only comprehensive, independent ratings that I h...
Does anyone have experience pulling a fifth wheel with a longbed and an over-the-rail toolbox? Should this be a concern? We currently have an under-the-rail toolbox but DH wants an over-the-rail style. Appreciate any input.
Hello to everyone. I'm just starting to learn about the RV Fulltime lifestyle and what all is involved. Wow!! What alot to know. My "Other" Half (not gonna say which is the "Better" Half) and I are just starting to talk about living this life when he retires in 6 years. So far...
What would you consider to be the best option for full-timing with two kids, 8 & 3? The 8 year old isn't with us all the time. We've been looking at Raptor toy haulers because they would each have their own little space in them. But we are now looking at a couple cougars that we like the floorplans o...
Confusion, confusion. We are looking for information about insurance for Full-Time RVing. We need to have our coach (1979 Coachmen-Sportscoach 3300 Class A), enclosed trailer (tandem axle), 1989 Harley Electra-Glide and personal possession insured. My husband also is taking about half h...
Hi to you all! I have thought about this Rv life for a long time, but I would be doing it a bit different. I want to live in my Rv, keep my job and then take vacations or long weekends away in my "home". Does anyone else out there do this? I looked through many posts but couldn't find anything. ...
We are hoping to fulltime in the next couple years. We will pick up our new Montana shortly and would like some information on additional warranty coverage. It is our understanding that everything is covered the first year but what should we purchase for years 2 +. We received a quote from Good Sams...
We are currently doing all our research for full time rving. We were very impressed with the information we read on the RV Journal about the RV Life on Wheels rallies. I have since tried to go on their website and cannot find them. Do they still exist? If not, is there something similar to this to help...
There's a lot of discussion now regarding health insurance. Husb is retired military and we have TriCare for Life. Currently husb is employed, but will be retiring from his 2nd job in early 2010. We are concerned about relying onTriCare Standard exclusively and are investigating TriCare S...
Just a little friendly advice.... If you have a spot on your nose (or other area of your skin) that always itches and occaisionally might bleed. Have a dermatologist look at it. I just spent the week taking care of my Dad after having most of his nose removed due to cancer. He's had a spot just above his...

When we purchased a few new tires the other day for our tt, the tech said to keep the pressure 10 under what the tire states.. Is this correct info. He claims he knows alot about tires on a trailer.. All of them are now minus the 10.. I am concerned.
Wanna hear how our motorhome is being used this week? I got outta the hospital on Monday, with NO way to get up and down all the stairs and 3 levels of our home. Sooooo as we pulled into the yard, Steve drove the car right up to the door on the motorhome in our driveway. I struggled the 2 steps up to the motor...
I know many of you have websites and have to have web hosts. We are working toward going full time and beside starting a RV adventure website (Paradise Journey) we are creating a Christian website to continue with our small group we will be leaving behind and a website for our on the road business.
