Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

RV Insurance for Full-Timers

confuse Confusion, confusion. confuse We are looking for information about insurance for Full-Time RVing.  We need to have our coach (1979 Coachmen-Sportscoach 3300 Class A), enclosed trailer (tandem axle), 1989 Harley Electra-Glide and personal possession insured.  My husband also is taking about half his tools, compressor, battery charger, etc. (these items will be hauled in the enclosed trailer)  I am taking my hand-made custom Guild guitar (valued at a few thousand), Singer industrial sewing machine, etc.  We would like to find insurance that will cover all these items, if possible at replacement value.  Is there any Insurance Company recommendations for us?  Even though it is a Vintage Coach?  It will be our only home.  Any information that anyone can give us would help.  Thank you - Don and Ann Miller confuse

We've been extrememly happy with Progressive. Great price and great service so far.

Haven't had to turn in a claim so not sure if we would still be happy. Hopefully will never need to know if their service on claims is good.

We set the value of the rig and contents and they quoted a price that was 60% cheaper than our old insurance.

Thanks - When I get a chance I'll check with them. We did get a guestimate quote from Good Sam, but they couldn't insure our coach as replacement due to the age. They did suggest getting an appraisal on it, but I am not really sure how to go about that either. I still have a lot to learn. Ann

Miller Insurance (503)636-6347

I recently had to switch my insurance on the coach and Jeep. Since Howard recommended Miller I called them and was pleasantly surprised by how much money they saved me.

We haven't done much research on this yet, but we did hear something today that I thought I would pass along.  We just had some warranty work done on our rig at an RV Repair Shop in Indiana, and picked it up today.  We were talking to one of the Techs, looking at a rig that was in for complete overhaul . . . only a week old and the owner fell asleep at the wheel and rolled it . . . tons of damage, but he was lucky to be unharmed!  Anyway . . . the technician mentioned that Progressive was an excellent company to work with on claims - he said they cover everything, and don't skimp on repairs!

I filed that piece of info aware for the future, and just thought I'd pass it along.

We also took Howard's lead and went with Miller Ins. (Progressive) great people to deal with and they are RVer's themselves. We traded coaches last year and we registered the Diesel coach in Montana under an LLC and Miller took care of all the insurance work without a hitch. You can contact them at 800-622-6347. Tell'em ole Gummy sent ya. smile

Thanks a lot for all the great info. I just put them on my list of "To Do"'s before we hit the trail. PS-Gummy - my husband has some nick names for me and one of them is Grumpy. I had to giggle at that one. Thanks again. Ann
