Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I just went on the 3G Store website and ran across a posting that indicated 3G Store is unable to offer any Verizon products and services at this time. Anyone know why ? I didn't have time to investigate.
Hi, my second post and we got a major problem. I was moving the RV to swing it around in front of the house (it was down the street while we had another yard sale) and as I made the turn BAM! It came off the receiver and came to rest on the rails of the truck bed. I got the jacks down and raised it up, got the truck ou...
I'm currently shopping for a truck to pull a 13,250lb [advertised dry weight] 5th wheel. I want to buy one used - probably ~ a 2006. I've read previous posts about needing to add for liquids and personal belongings so I'm using 16,000lbs as a "target" minimum towing capacity needed. Based o...
We will soon be purchasing our full time RV. For some time now we thought that we'd purchase a diesel motor home. But, we really like the floor plans and more of the "home" feeling of a 5th wheel. There is so much more space and the lower cost is certainly a plus. We will be work camping about 1...
We take off October 1 to start fulltiming (traveling). We have actually lived in our fiver since January but retire Sept 30. I am a planner by nature. I have made a tentative schedule that takes us through to a few days after Christmas. Of course lots depends on if we can get reservations in the cam...
Hi Dreamers! We're going to be spending the next few days visiting Devils Tower and Mount Rushmore, then we're going to be making our way back home to Vermont (with a pit stop in Pittsburgh, PA). I was wondering what we should stop and see along the way and I was also wondering if there are any roads we shou...
I am still a bit confused about what racks up the data usage on my air card. If I go to someone's web album and look at their photos, does this increase my usage? Does it use more of "whatever" than merely reading their blog? And lastly, if a person adds a lot of pictures to their blog (not in a s...

Our son graduated high school in May and is going to UTI to become a certified Diesel / Auto tech. 18 months of intense study and then out on his own. Then we can begin out trip. We are going to sell the house, store the things we want to keep and then go. Getting close now to where we can join all on the road...
No, really. I will be part of a crowd scene for the "Warrior" now shooting in Pittsburgh. I have done extra work before --in Pittsburgh-- and it's fun. Long day, but fun. imdb.com has lists of movies 'in production, but I found this one through craigslist "ETC" column.
An aquaintance of mine has property in Morongo Valley, CA. near Palm Springs. He has a couple of RV spots available that he would like to rent out (low rent) for long term or at least a few months. Morongo Valley is one hour north of Palm Springs off of Hwy 62, it is considered high desert so the temperatu...
We have been enjoying this site for some time. In 2006 we began entertaining thoughts about simplifying our life. Full timing sounded pretty good, but scary. We purchased our Aspect in September 06. The trips we took were great primers for full timing. There was much to do to get to this p...
Just being careful, is there any way to tell if a tow bar and/or toad brackets have reached the point where they are worn out and should be replaced? I have a Roadmaster Tow set up and have been careful to keep everything a s clean and lubed as possible, but recently when I took off my toad brackets after an e...
My husband and I are considering buying an RV and living in it with our two young daughters. I am really excited about the idea of seeing different places with our girls, but I am so scared, too. We are trying to research everything but I feel overwhelmed. We recently sold our house--that is good. Family...
I have followed Linda and Howard since the first year of their full timing lifestyle. I have enjoyed getting to know a lot of you through your blogs. So keep blogging, because I'm a faithful reader. My husband and I own a Class A RV, this is our 3rd RV, so I'm not a newbie to RVing. We belong to a local RV club...
Hi guys...just wanted to let you know that Keith and Donna Green's lovely home in Lufkin, TX, burned down early this morning. They are OK, Keith has some burns on his feet, but otherwise no injuries. Please keep these wonderful folks in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with a tragic loss. ...
We are investigating selling our home and living in an RV full time. We have no problems selling all that we have, but what do we do with our pictures and things we don't want to sell, but don't need to carry around with us? Do you guys rent a cold storage place somewhere? If so, any suggestions of the most...
We're planning a trip to see the House on the Rock in Spring Green, WI -- we also want to tour the Winnebago Factory in Forest City, Iowa. Does anyone have a recommendation for a big-rig friendly campground that would be nice enough to stay in for 2-3 days somewhere in between? Thanks for any help you can...
Hi Everyone, I'm no longer a lurker, (yea! a big step for me). I have been following Linda and Howard's journal and this forum for almost a year. After visiting them last month in northern California, I finally registered to introduce myself. This is the first time that I have participated in an...

Hello from the road. My wife and I have been fulltime RVers for two years now and we have seen many wonderful areas of our wonderful country. We live in a class A diesel pusher with two dogs and usually a couple of mosquitoes. We volunteer in National Parks and sometimes we take a short-term workamping...
Hi everyone, it's been quite a while since my last post and a lot has happened since then. We listed our house and sold it within a month...we purchased an '06 Newmar Kountry Star 3910 DP and an'02 Honda crv. and are now in the process of packing up and getting ready to go! We only have 9 more days to g...
I just opened it and there is a lot of frost and ice in it - like the times before they developed fridges that had frost-free freezers, or when you accidentally leave the freezer door open. I noticed also that the freezer no longer hisses when it closes - I guess it did that before because it was sealing? Th...
Our AC unit stopped working through the night. Usually we shut it off every night and then start it back up in the morning. The fan usually turns on first then it takes awhile for the ac to kick in and start working; it always has a loud hum/grumble when it first kicks in and starts cooling the air. How...
I need some help from anyone who may know this area. Our son is graduating from Marine Corps Boot Camp at Parris Island on September 4th and we are trying to find a campground as close as possible. I normally would take my chances but this is Labor Day weekend and campsites will be hard to come by so we're...
Greetings to all. I have been lurking on this site (and several others) for a few years. I joined a few rv forums a year or so ago, but dropped off when the dream of travel looked bleak and not in our future. Happily, our future changed again in the past two months and we are back looking to fulltime at ret...
