Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We've moved from Lake Worth FL, back "home" to rural N. Texas. The plan to chuck everything we don't want or absolutely need in the front yard and take off for the largest tinfoil hat is still on "go" and we're looking at a mid to late 2010 blast off. We're also knee deep, wading thru...
I bought a 1989 Fireball 5th wheel & finally ran water in to check the freshwater tank. It leaks underneath like a waterfall. The owner lied to me about there being no leaks. I'm stuck with it and have very little money for repair. Underneath there are 2 big holes in the covering where the water runs o...
Like a lot of you guys, I'm working that long trail towards full time RV living. Conventionally it's a math problem, broken at times by "life" causing you to recalculate, and, it seems, always pushing that launch-date back further. I'm taking a different path, but the journey is very mu...
We camped for the first time a couple nights ago (fifth wheel) & while walking around the campground noticed that most people with fifth wheelers had a tripod gadget under the king pin. Maybe this is a stupid question but.....what are they and what are they for? Are they just a backup for the landin...
Thanks to all of you for the words of encouragement! I know we'll be getting back to you with questions soon. We've got a reservation for our first night at a campground on our way back from Iowa (picking up our fifth wheeler) to our home in Arkansas. So, our first leap of faith . . . Pam and Ric Moser
We have had great success using a house type swamp cooler in the desert. We therefore are considering a turbokool swamp cooler. Has anyone tried using one. I am primarily concerned about capacity (we have a 40 ft motorhome) and would be trying to cool either living or bedroom ( based on which window is c...
We sold our ladders and now are wondering how we will clean off/brush off leaves, dirt and debris from the top of the slide after camping. How do y'all do it? Also, is the top of the 5ver ok to walk on? It seems like climbing up there is taking the roofs life in your hands, or feet as the case may be...any help?...
We have a Wilson Antenna/Booster for our cell phones and air card. It is well past time to update our devices, but we cannot find anything with external antennas. Have any of you folks located anything lately? We may have to upgrade the booster to wireless, but we have had such good results with the o...

ok .. I know this is a very personal question and people aren't suppose to ask.. but it is the one that keeps me from just getting up and hitting the road... My husband and I are in our mid 50's.. if we were to just cash everything in and hit the road we have no income ...outside of living off of any money we make...
What a great place this forum is; it's polite, it's literate, it's respectful. I'm relieved to have found it. I am divorced (I'm not doing that again, thanks ;0) ), definitely not retired, but really, really not going to sit around until some arbitrary time for fulltiming kicks in. Does anyo...
I love cooking and being in the kitchen. I seem to be setting off the smoke detector every time I use the stove top and I do not understand why. Example this morning I was browning sausage, no smoke at all, no butter nothing and the smoke detector went off. Normally I would just "deal with it" b...
I don’t post that often but as others have said this is family and I wanted to share our exciting news with all of you. After three years of research we have made our decision and ordered a new Fifth Wheel. It is an Excel Limited 36GKE. If all goes as planned we will move into it in April 2010 and work until Aug...
Hey Y'all I am not to good at telling about myself. I have been lurking around this site for a short while and really like information and the way everyone tries to help out the newb's. I don't have a TT at this time I sold it about 2 months ago due to personal reason. I plan to buy a 5er some time down the road an...

Here I go again - with another question (help!)? Because we live so far out side of town (20+ miles) we had our moving sale, sold a lot, but still have so much left over. We need to get rid of it! And we need to get as much funds as possible. *Have any of you ever contacted anyone who advertises to buy househ...
We mostly boondock, so please forgive my ignorance about reserving a spot in a campground! About a week ago, we were kicking around the idea of going to a state park campground for this weekend, Friday through Sunday. I got online, checking all the state park campgrounds near Denver. We wanted a sit...

Loved today's entry Howard...the quotes really are inspirational. I wanted to see the tv show but forgot all about it. Is it a series or just the one show? Anybody else watch it?
Is anyone familiar with this RV Center in Mesa, AZ? Reputable place?? We are looking at 5ers and they have one that we really like. Any info about this place would be appreciated. Thank you all for being so helpful. (Sorry for the big pic, but I'm not sure how I can make it smaller!!)
The house is listed, and a for sale sign has found itself a new home next to my mail box. I am sad, and excited at the same time after 24 years in it. It's kind of like fishing, now we get to wait and see if we get any bites. Wish us luck. I will work on the motorhome tomorrow to remind myself why I am doing this...
Hi everyone we just wanted to introduce ourselves. I'm the Rod part of our screenname the real part is my wife of 32 years, Connie. I use a desktop that has Microsoft XP, and a laptop with Microsoft Vista. I prefer the desktop, but while I am workamping this summer I won't have internet access except possibly if I can find a hotspot somewhere along the road to town. Because of that I need my laptop, much as I hate it and Vista. I tur...
We are searching for our fulltime RV. Mostly looking at 38 to 40' MHs. I've noticed some MHs have Aqua Heat. Is that a ho****er system for heating the RV much like the boiler in our sticks home? If so what is the advatages/disadvatages of this system. Is it economical ? Wayne
Ok.... here are some pics of our project we just did last night! On our 1996 Safari Serengeti, our fiberglass roof can be known to get tiny microscopic cracks and fissures after 10 years of age.... resulting in potential leaks! So the guys on the Safari list with rigs the same vintage of ours are coating...
