Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Wanna hear how our motorhome is being used this week?
I got outta the hospital on Monday, with NO way to get up and down all the stairs and 3 levels of our home. Sooooo as we pulled into the yard, Steve drove the car right up to the door on the motorhome in our driveway. I struggled the 2 steps up to the motorhome door, then up the four steps inside. Ahhhhh heaven for a recuperation unit!
The bathroom is a mere few feet from the bed. I can move around with plenty of cabinetry to lean on, or doorways to hold onto and have all the comforts of *home*. The cell phone, the laptop, the tv/vcr/dvd, and even the dogs!
Steveio brought me my meals and kept tabs on me during the day from work via cell phone. Our kids stopped by with treats and checking up on me too. So for five days our rig was a convelescent center!
Now... fast forward to Friday. We had a niece's wedding in the same town my hubby works in, 40 miles to the south. (I am feeling better by now) So I sat back in my cushy driver's seat and drove the rig to the ballroom parking lot (with permission) and waited for my hubby to get outta work. He drove right here, showered, and we both got dressed for the wedding right in our rig in the parking lot!
Of course there is that lull between the wedding and the reception.... I was able to come out to the rig and lay down and rest. All our grown kids came and joined us too in the rig. Between the meal and the start of the dancing, I was able to come back out, along with my soon-t0-be-one-year-old grandson, so we played while the others all visited inside. Hubby dear could toddle out here about midnight, and not have to worry about drinking and driving!
Ok, now it's Saturday morning. we have to drive another 40-50 miles east to the other grandparent's house for our grandsons first birthday party! The storage compartments of our motorhome are filled with folding tables, a huge 20x10 canopy, extra high chair and portable crib... and our fridge is loaded with party food. We just have to pick up the cake nearby and head out for a wonderful party!
We are invited to spend the night in the rural yard of the other grandparent's home, so now our rig is a guest bedroom! ps. they are having a campfire too, so I think it also qualifies as a camping trip!
Convelescent Center Hotel Room Party Supply Transport Vehicle Guest Room and last, but not least, a CAMPER!
What more can we ask for?
