Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hey folks, Susan and I are looking at Maggie Valley for about a week trip and were wondering if any of you have camped there. I looked on RV Reviews and there are only 8 campgrounds listed so I was wondering if any of you could make any recommendations as to which is the best. Also if you know of a good campg...
Well, the inspection went well and we have corrected everything that was agreed upon in the contract. The termite inspection went fine and the appraisal came back today. The appraisal was great. Our house was appraised for more than the selling price. The buyers have been approved and the under...

This will be our first winter traveling in our fifth wheel, and I'm just trying to sort out a way to handle it best. We want to be home with family in the Finger Lakes area of upstate New York during the Thanksgiving through Christmas season. However, we DON'T WANT to travel from the northeast pulling ou...
I did not realize how attached dogs get to a person. I'm traveling with two furry buddies- Spike, a Brown/red Minature Poodle, five months old and Coco, Chocolate Lab, four years old. (see avitar) Coco is very attached to me. She could be with DW a if I'm gone will cry and look for me. Spike has been sepera...
We saw this on the web, and we went to the local Verizon store. You can get a 15% discount and an even larger discount on accessories. We had no problem when we were there. If you are a veteran and use Verizon telephone service, if you take your DD 214 (discharge) to any Verizon company store (not a franch...
Does anyone own a Lazy Daze? If you do, what are the best things about it and what are the things you wish were different? Thank you. -- Edited by travelinmama on Saturday 25th of July 2009 07:03:16 AM

As we are new to the RV scene we were wondering where to find one of the old school style, colorful US state sticker sets. All we can find now is the less colorful item with small descriptions or pictures on each white state...Any ideas?

Bummer!! Our closing was scheduled for the 17th of July. The deal fell through. FHA would not grant the loan because the well is located in the Right Of Way and not on our property. We have to move it about five feet. We live in a very rural area. There is no way that road will ever be widened, but as our l...
We have narrowed our motorhome selection field to a handful, and I am following "NorCal Dan's" advice and listing them here to seek your opinions: (all are diesel pushers) 2003 Winnebago Journey DL 39WD for $61,700 has 330 hp on Freightliner chasis w/ 41,000 miles. VERY well equipped i...
Some of the motorhomes we are considering have a combined washer/dryer unit and some do not. I did a forum search and found and read the threads on this topic, but they are several years old. I am wondering, if after several more years of experience if anyone has changed their mind about their washer/d...
I know I've poped into the chat on occasion but I wanted to say an official hello! My hubby and I are in the process of getting the house ready to sell and hoping to get out of Vermont before winter comes again. I'm not holding my breath but I'm an eternal optimist! I'm a research geek and from what I've rea...
Just wanted to say that while we sometimes spend more time on line, lately we have just been having too much fun and haven't participated in the forum much. Travel to Alaska is just enthralling and we doubt that is going to change until we get back into the lower 48 in September. I guess that is why others...
I started this RV thing over 6 years ago and I'm somewhat active on a couple of other forums.........But I just found your forum. I have a Wildcat 27RL and a dmax/allison to tote it around with. I started out just to visit each of the great Oklahoma State Parks...but...a couple of years ago the doctors de...
Hello Dreamers, My husband, Henry and I just bought a 2005 Holiday Rambler and we are so excited! We are hoping to go full time in the very near future. We took the Rambler to Cloudland Canyon this past weekend since it is just a couple of hours away, so we could check out everything and try our hand out at...
Getting ready to let go of my GMC Canyon and HD Road King toads and get a Rubicon. Just wanted some advice on the base plate for the Jeep. I'll be looking at 2005-2006 TJ models and towing with the same Blue OX towbar "adventa II?" as I did with the GMC. Blue OX recommends using a BX1120 baseplate...
This may have been discussed, but the search feature is down. So, I'll ask just in case it hasn't been a former topic. We are in the process of preparing for a garage sale to get rid of excess stuff. One of the items is a large rolling tool chest. I need to sell it and a bunch of tools. As a replacement, I wa...
Hi out there! We drove our RV to campground site....hooked up electric....but confused and uncertain about everything else. Our manual is useless.....do we need to flush and purify water system as our RV (2005 Class C) sat on a lot for a long time before we came along.......Suggestions would be so...
We are currently in Seattle WA area, and wanted to know if anyone can suggest an RV dealer in this area who can install a Blue Ox permanent base plate as we are considering replaces our toad. Appreciate any help. Larry
We had left our RV parked at the King County Fairgrounds in Enumclaw, WA (southeast of Seattle) while we flew back east to a conference for about a week. I had left a wood clothes rack outside leaning against the tires while we were gone and when we came back there were hundreds of termites that came out...
Still shopping for just the right used pickup. I'm finding that four wheel drives are costing several thousand dollars more than 2WD's. Is 4 wheel drive truly needed often? Those of you who have 2 wheel drives, do you have regrets for not having 4WD? Any disadvantages of 4WD aside from additional com...
Going through the San Francisco area [either side of the bay] turns me into a basket case in the car, bet you will be able to guess how I'm feeling now. Near the end of the month, we need to get the 40' RV plus toad to a campground on a road about 30 miles north of SF [Santa Rosa area], and will be starting from...
We have narrowed our motorhome purchase decision down to a few specific coaches, but we are reluctant to "pull the trigger" for fear of making a poor decision. Are there any unbiased consultants out there that know the pros and cons of the brands and features, as well as market prices, etc....
Hi! I am new to this forum and I'm planning on beginning full-timing in the next 3 years. I have noticed on this site - and many others - that many full-timers have 5th wheels. Is there any reason for this? I have always wanted to go with a small Class C - I will be solo-ing and I am a true minimalist - so I don'...
