Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

We are Getting there...Slow housing Market...

I have read everything (almost) on this site over the last 8 months. One of my must reads daily is Howards journal. I found this great site in March of this year when I started looking to go full timing on the road. This has been my dream for many years. My wife is 100% with me. Her youngest daughter graduated high school last spring and we are now empty nesters. We listed the house in November and are hoping to have it gone by spring. We are actively researching motor homes, Totor Homes and 5th wheels. My wife lost her job last summer and we started vending motorcycle apparel and hot sauces at Country Fests and Motorcycle Rallies. We have a great time doing them so we are going to continue doing this around the country and follow the 75 degree line. We both are so looking forward to this major change in our lives. I just turned 50 and we need to go and enjoy this beautiful country we have here. I have done lots of traveling and lived in many different parts of the country but never left everything to live just in out RV. I have had many 5ers and spent lots of time camping all over and we love it. Get ready for the questions on 5ers and pushers…

Great site and great people here. Looking forward to meeting many of you out there..

Welcome to the forum.

Bring on those questions about 5ers and pushers. I'm sure all the great folks here will be able to help you.

Good luck on the sale of your house.

Jim

Welcome! We can't wait to go either. A few more years for us, and we're in the 'research' mode as well. The journey to full-timing is wonderful. This site is so helpful!

Welcome, and good luck with the sale of your home. I know how stressful that step is, ours sold in May but we still need to stay and work awhile.

Thank you to all! We are working out the details right now on making a trip down to the Tampa RV Show next month. My sister lives in Dayton Beach area and wants us to stay by them. We will then drive to Tampa for a day or two at the show. I think it will take more than a day to see what we want to. Has anyone been to this show before? I see Howard said it is one of the biggest in the States. Any info would be great.

Thank you,
Dave & Cris

We too have to sell a house.  It's going on the market at the end of the first full week in January.  Hope it sells quick and doesn't drag.  We know the market is bad but we want to get on the road so bad.  Hope you have a sale real soon.

Welcome and heres to a quick sell of your home! We sold/closed on our home in August so we haven't been full-timing long but our journey to this point has been lengthy. We are so excited about this lifestyle and are having the time of our lives. We wish you all the best in obtaining your dream. Good luck and stay in touch. Keep us updated on the progress.

Thank you Racerguy! Heres to you getting your house sold too. Someday we will meet out on the road. We can not wait. When this house goes we will be ready to go. I had a good week last week. I sold 5 snowmobiles in 5 days off of Craig's list. Have a lot of things to get rid off. Slowly working on that also.
Heres to all of us waitng for the housing market to turn!!!   cheers

Take Care!

Good luck on a quick sale, some have gone quick and some have taken some time to sell.
We are in the second group, we have been trying to sell during the worst housing market in years. We hope to see more activity in early 2010 and get ours sold so we can get out on the road living our dreams.
We were second choice a few weeks ago in a buyers showings of seven houses, close but no deal.
