Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I am a single, "older" female and will be fulltiming in the next 6 months. I have narrowed my search down to small C-B's. I have been looking at 2005's and newer with diesel engines. I have recently come across a 1998 Coachhouse C (gas) with 18,000 miles extremely reasonably priced. At...
We want to buy a MH and really are leaning towards older ones too cost wise, but have come across one place we were thinking of going saying they have a 12 yr restriction but to send them photo How commen is this,,we were looking into long term stay. We live in Canada by the way
Hello. I am happy to have found this group. My DW (48) and I (36) are in the planning stages. Well, midway through a long planning stage! I started planning on how to snowbird when I was 8, living in northen Michigan, and my grandma spent the winters in Florida. Decided at 8 yo that woman was BRILLI...
Yesterday I brought the trailer to the house to start getting it ready for the trip south. I returned it to the covered storage unit today and low and behold, while backing it in I bumped the TT next to mine no real damage except a little skinned paint, about 3 inches long on his trailer in two places. I went...
We have had 2 blow outs in the last 3 months. Our camper was bought new 11 months ago, and probably has less than 8000 miles on it. We have decided to replace all the tires, but don't know what with. What are you running on your 5th wheels?
So, in reading different forums, it seems apparent that anyone owning a fifth wheel with the disk brakes needs to have a torque wrench. While I know what they are and a "somewhat" idea of how to use them, I have NEVER had any experience with any of them. My tool of choice in the past has been a 4-w...
I am sure that this has probably been covered before. I have a 1995 Wilderness and have only used it twice. I have only dumped the tanks twice, but I have a strong odor inside the unit after I do. I wonder if I am doing something wrong.
I want to buy a wireless weather station for the enjoyment of learning more about the weather and because weather plays an integral part in the enjoyment of RVing. I don't know much about weather, except I don't want to be in the north in the winter or in the south in the summer, but I do think it would be fun...
I've just purchased a used DP that has a Weldex 7063-M rear view system. Driving the unit home I discovered that the rear camera image is reversed; items appearing on the left side are actually on the right side and vice-versa. Obviously this can be quite discerting when you expect something to pass yo...
We were planning to take some friends to Oatman to see the burros and remains of the town this September.... but someone told them not to go there, that it is now a hub for illegal drug labs, etc. We can't imagine that being true about this cute little ghost town full of tourists ... does anyone know if thi...
I was researching satellite systems earlier today and ran across this unit. Was wondering if anyone out there has any knowledge or used this before. Seems like a decent alternative to a roof mount or tripod (although it could be used in that fashion also). http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/t...
I was headed north on RT 9 North to Kremmling, Colorado when I got into some crosswinds and had both hands tightly gripped on the steering wheel for that. Any advice on what is that best way to deal with cross winds?
While our Rig is Big, our counter tops are not. I had this cabinet side wall, when the slide comes in i have 3.5" of space to work with. I found these low profile drop down brackets, and used a solid surface counter that matches the existing tops, this little top has literally doubled our kitchen wor...
Hi! We are Joan and Steve. This is our first thread in RV-Dreams and we are excited to be rookies. For what it's worth we thought we'd let you know a little about ourselves. Hope it's not too much too soon. We have been together since 2005 when we were introduced by a mutual friend who knew we were both into...
I am going with a used Class A 36-40' for full-timing solo. There seems to be quite a debate on the fuel issue. I thought I had settled 100% on diesel then I had some nay-sayers and now I am confused again. Your thoughts/opinions?
We are going to look at a 40 foot 5th wheel that is a 1970's model that has less than 10,000 miles on it and has been covered storage for decades. It is definitely not something we are interested in for ourselves but we are just so curious about it and it is not far from us and he only wants 3500.00 for it. Th...
Today is day 12 here at Happy Holiday RV Village in Cherokee, NC. We are thoroughly enjoying our stay here nestled in a valley of the Smokies. It is a time of de-stress and recuperation of body and soul after our month in sweltering Missouri and before we start a new job next week in South Carolina. We...
OK. I seem to have a problem that "probably" just needs a little tip that I have either forgotten or can't seem to find in the manuals. Even though our MS is brand new still, I can't seem to get the hot water to heat water. When we were first checking out the unit for any glitches, I hooked up the wa...
Where is the best place to get decent replacements for the basement hydraulic supports? One of my basement doors won't stay up because it seems there isn't any pressure in the two pistons on the door.
Thanks
Greetings, all from another pair of "will-be's". Our story is so similar to all of yours! He's 57, I'm 55 and we've been bitten by the Fulltiming bug. No, we've never RV'd, but we've done a fair amount of overnighting in a 40' sailboat - coincidentally, I always called it the "floatin...
Ok, I ordered my bloody drive disconnect for my Tacoma today, then came back and pulled the first of the tube tbs out, the one in the dash. I now have this gaping hole where the tv was. I am thinking of mounting a gps/cell/etc charger with a slide out laptop stand there. My questions are:
1) I was told simp...
I have a question about the electrical service hookups in camgrounds. I know that on most large 5th wheels and motor homes there is a 5o amp hookup. My question is when you are in a campgroung that only has 30Amp service how do you hook up the unit. Is there an adapter you need? Also, when you run on a...
Hi everyone! Me and my hubby, Scott are in our mid 50's, love family, travel, golf. I just happened on this website, rv-dreams.com, last night doing a search for 'living on the road', and am I glad I did!! Found wonderful people, a wealth of information, and HOURS later found I had a new passion ... livin...
Since we launched our adventure in late May, we have been dry camping. Each week we haul 15 miles to a rest area to dump and fill. Since we are disconnected, we have to rely on the water pump to provide pressure. Prior to leaving Denver, we camped a couple nights without water hookup to see if everythin...
Jo and I are still planning for future needs. One of which is a temporary fence that would look nice that we could put up for our dogs. We will be living as "static" full timers when our home sells and will likely be living in a mobile home park somewhere in the Oklahoma City area. Anyway, towa...
For those who like boondocking, I'd like to share a campground that Jo and I have frequented numerous times since about 1976. The name of the campground is Purgatoire River Campground (and that is spelled right) and it is located in the San Isabel National Forest west and north of Trinidad, Colorado...
I just bought a 208 georgetown 315, it doesnt have a owners manual. dont feel very comfortable with out it. can any give me a sight where i can down load one.
Hi all! I found this site when I recently because obsessed with all things motorhome related, which was about 60 seconds after I had my Most Brilliant Idea Ever, which was to buy a small campervan (I think a lot smaller than what most of you have) and hit the road for at least a year. Minor Details: I don't a...
