Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I found this site when I recently because obsessed with all things motorhome related, which was about 60 seconds after I had my Most Brilliant Idea Ever, which was to buy a small campervan (I think a lot smaller than what most of you have) and hit the road for at least a year.
Minor Details: I don't actually have a driving license I have no money I have severe social anxiety which prevents me getting a regular job I have never lived on my own, or travelled without a "safe person" to be a buffer zone between me and people I don't know I have a dog (and possibly 2 cats) that I'd like to take with me
Buy hey! Where there's a will there's a way, right? So I've applied for my learners permit (I'm in Australia) and if all goes well, I'll be able to drive unsupervised within about 8 months, which should be just enough time to save up enough money (maybe $5000 or so) to get a small campervan, train the animals, and practise my people skills.
I might not post much, because my fear of people does cross over to online (although it's much milder when I have a computer to hide behind) and you all terrify me :D but I will be reading lots and maybe asking a few questions if that's all right.
Welcome, Lee, to a very friendly group of people, who all, somewhere beneath their skin, have one fear or more. They simply park them until they arise once again.
Worry not, no one here has been bitten or treated less than friendly. As to your questions, ask away. Someone will have a good answer.

Like you said, "Where there's a will there's a way".
Good luck with your plans,

Welcome. I just got back from a Woman of Faith conference. Patsy Clairmont spoke of her years of suffering as a prisoner in her own home, a victim of agoraphobia, and how it gave her a deep appreciation of God's healing power.
As others have said, don't give up your dream. Take it slow and do little steps, one at a time. Good Luck Jo and Paul
