Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Update on our Status

Just thought I would give everyone an update on our FT progress.  We made the decision to FT last November (2009) and put our house on the market in March.

Well, the house is still not sold!  Reduced it $5,000 twice so now the asking price is $10,000 less than where we started.  (And would take an offer $5,000 - $7,000 below that.)  However, we are Fulltiming in our RV but just not going anywhere.  We managed to sell all our furniture this past summer.  And, we hopefully, are leaving here in March, regardless.  The plan is to let a property managing company list it "for lease" as it stays on the market also "For Sale".  Whichever happens first is the way we'll go - lease or sell.  We prefer to sell but we're tired of waiting so hopefully it will lease in the next three months if not sold.  And we'll deal with house destruction later on down the road.

We have accepted a summer workamping job at Adventureland in Altoon, IA, and are looking forward to spending the summer there.  We will leave Alabama on March 21st, take a southern detour to New Orleans area (visit son) and then go north, stopping for a while to Hannibal, MO, in an  attempt to dig up my husband's old skeletons.  And from there on to Iowa.  Never been to Iowa, and Wyoming, and Nebraska, too, but hope to at least spend a couple nights in Wyoming and Nebraska.

So long for now.

Good luck to you! I, too, have my house on the market since August. Lowered the price to a point now $5000 below my mortgage owed no Started with a sales price of $124,900..now down to $99k and not much interest yet.

It's bound to happen sooner or later...it only takes one!

Sounds like a great workkamping gig!

Been to Adventureland many times. Iowa is a good place with great people. We will be hangin' out near Cedar Rapids, IA this summer. It is where we were from before we went FT last fall. Good luck with the workcamping and selling the house.
