Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

New to this forum

Hi to all!

I have been lurking around and I really enjoy the format and quality of the members on this forum. I really don't know what to call myself and I don't think it matters. I do fulltime in a 3812TS Raptor but I don't get to travel due to my job. I am proudly serving in the military and I am currently deployed to Iraq. We should return sometimes next year and believe me I am more then ready to get my Raptor out of storage and once again live the rv life. Now out of curriosity, in RV Term what do we call someone like me who fulltime rv but basically stay at a stand still?

Respectfully,

Harry

Hi Harry!

Welcome to RV-Dreams and thank you so much for your service.  smile

There are many RVers that live in their RV and never move or only move once our twice a year.  Don't know about anyone else, but I still call them full-timers.  smile

Glad to have you on the Forum.

Welcome, Harry.

First of all, thank you for your service to our country and its citizens.  You are greatly appreciated for that.

Like Howard said, there are a number of folks doing what you described.  Once our house sells, Jo and I will be living in our fifth wheel until we retire in an undetermined number of years yet.

When I've described our future lifestyle to others, I refer to us becoming "Static Full-timers" as opposed to "Mobile Full-timers."

From Dictionary.com:

static

–adjective Also, stat·i·cal.

pertaining to or characterized by a fixed or stationary condition.

So, welcome to the "charged up" group.

Terry

Thank you, Harry

. . . for being our front line of defense for our freedom!!!  Been there, proud of having done that. I agree with Mel, your definition is Patriot.

If you can read, thank a teacher.  If you can read anything you wish, thank a vet!

Charles

From a former Vet to you Harry, you have my deep respect and gratitude! I have numerous friends with sons/daughters either in Iraq or Afghanistan these days. My prayers are with you during these long deployments. God Bless ...

Many thanks for the warm welcome to the forum. Also, thanks for every vets and civilians alike. As I mentioned in my introduction is what really attracted me to this forum is the quality of the members. It seems that there is not to much disagreements and more friendship among members, and lets not forget the weight police at every reply.

Thanks for your service to our Country.. At one time we were full timing and due to wife's Moms medical issues we quit. We are now Some Timing, at Some Time we just get up and hit the road. About 8 months a year at different locations. I would say your a full timer. However you can be what ever you want, its just a choice. Have fun......... Be Safe.....
Thanks again my Warrior Brother.........................
