Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I was just looking over the site and happen to see the number of people that look at the post but never comment,I was thinking why and remembered how many post I have read that I wanted to give my 2 cents but didn't. I was just wondering why we don't ask more questions or help when we know the answer, (or think...

We purchase an Edenpure Gen 1000 heater for our fifth wheel this year so if we stay in parks we can use that instead of the furnace. They are not cheap but have amazing heating ability and only suppose to use the power of a coffee pot. One thing we like about it is there is no humidity like there is with the p...
When I turn on my hot water faucets water will pour out for a second and then will trickle out. I took the bypass off the water heater and turned the valve and water poured out of the cold water inlet but did not come out as fast at the hot water outlet. I know that the water heater is filling up and even turned t...
Guess its time for us to join in on the forum since we just registered for the Fall Rally in Hershey! We're Ken and Marianne from New Jersey. We've been camping since our honeymoon to Williamsburg, VA in 1973. We started in the back of a pickup with a cap. Have talked about traveling all over the US and C...
Well, we close on the house on Monday and move into our new 5th wheel home. Exciting and a little scary. I am exhausted! We have packed up and sold 17 years of stuff. It's amazing what you can find in those closets. We are doing the storage thing for now - just till we are all settled and know that this is it. Pl...
Well, the month of July has been very interesting. We put our house on the market a couple of months ago and figured we would be 6-12 months min. before we hit the road full-timing. But, now we are moving out Sept 1 and will be officially full-timing! We did not sell our house, but instead had our state's ne...
Hello all, my SO and I have been camping our whole lives and figured it was time to get off the ground and into an RV. I RV'd with my folks as a teenager but never had anything more than a van with an air mattress in it myself. We're 52 & (soon to be) 51, acheived debt free status a couple of months ago and de...
Just wanted to let y'all know that I've just listed this truck camper for sale under Classified. I realize that most of you are either full-timers, wanna-be's, gonna-be's, etc. but thought this might grab someone's interest. We've really enjoyed this camper and it would be great for those Alaska...
Hi Everyone, Thanks so much for all the great information as I work towards my fulltime RV lifestyle! I will need to be in a "fixed" location for most of the year so my son can attend his school. The park I am looking at is only 1/4 mile from his school and is $345.00 a month plus electric. This is t...
Hi. I asked about this subject before, and found some good work in my field of transcription. However, as I searched around more among campers, found a preponderance of couples are hired mostly because the one site and one person often isn't enough (as a cyberfriend told me could happen) and a couple c...
Hi All,Well, it's been a busy season for me in Maine. For all of you that have met me at the rallies, Yes ! the house is now rented for at least the year. I was either going to put it on the market or rent it. First person that showed up to see it, took it for the year. Maybe two years with the option to buy if I choo...
I ran across this today when looking for a parts list for our Dometic refrigerator. We added a shelf in the freezer and needed one little part to act as a sleeve or insert in the wall of the freezer. With this website, at least with the refrigerators, one needs a Model number (ours is the RM1350) and the Pro...
I know you are never supposed to use any cleanser powder in an RV, but what about SOS or Brillo scouring pads. Sometimes there is a need to use something to get burnt or stuck on food from pot or pan. When we rented an RV in New Zealand, most camps had community kitchens and I just took a hard to clean pan the...
Hi All, I wanted to post and let people know that New Horizons RV is offering a communications package based on our equipment. They build and install it right at the factory so that cables, and such are all tucked away and are clean. We wanted to let people know about this as it may give you some great idea...
Hi Everyone, Full time RVing has intrigued me for years. Each year they have a huge RV show here in Boise with 100s of gorgeous RVs. I walk through the show, going in each RV thinking...this would be really cool to do fulltime. I operate an internet business that I can do from anywhere. In the last 2 years m...

We are going to the RV-Dreams rally - our 1st and so excited. After the rally we are going to Shipshewana & Elkhart Indiana to tour a couple of fifth wheel factories to choose our future home. We will be taking I-76W to Ohio getting on I-80 to Indiana. My questions are: 1. Is there a better route? I...

Here in Oklahoma City, as of July 26, we've had 32 days in excess of 100 degrees for the year. The next 7 days are ALL forecasted for in excess of 100 degrees. Our record is 50 days in a year over 100. And, we still have August to get through.... Proof of the heat:
Good morning - I was wondering if any of ya'll had an opinion about the Ipad and Laptop. I know we need a few basics: a camera, internet (obviously) and some kind of bookkeeping program. The reason I even started thinking about the Ipad is because of it's ease to get connected. We aren't hitting "...
Hi, My husband and I took a cross-country trip last Aug-Sept. We took the northern route, starting in Delaware, across Pa and Ohio, onto to I90. Ran into the WORST toll system in Illinois. Toll booths are in the far right-hand lane, just a quick stop to throw in .25-.50 and speed on. Only problem w...
I received this from my brother and thought I would share with my RV family so we can all laugh today instead of worrying about what's not going on in Washington.Enjoy.Wouldn't you love to see how the trip went...? Good chance he ended up doin' some unintended off roadin' somewhere. Check the 'hil...
So many people are concerned about the flooding situation here in Missouri. We live in our camper right on the banks of the Missouri River and keep a close watch on the river levels. We live one day at a time . . . not stressing about the what ifs, just keeping in contact with the experts who map the river....
Hola everyone! We're a small family ready for roadschooling! I have two small ones they'll be turning 1 and 4 in the next couple months. We actually have traveled a lot, and wanted to get an RV years ago, but didn't think we could afford it. We traveled for half a year and camped out in nature the whole t...
