Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I was just looking over the site and happen to see the number of people that look at the post but never comment,
I was thinking why and remembered how many post I have read that I wanted to give my 2 cents but didn't. I was just wondering why we don't ask more questions or help when we know the answer, (or think we do).

Actually, I've been guilty of reading a lot of posts and not commenting. To my way of thinking, I am in a constant stage of learning.
Well, I thought that until recently when I happened to look under "List All Users" in the blue bar above. (I think one has to be logged in to see it all,) When I looked there I found that I was in the top five posters on the forum.
On another forum, one such as me would be considered a "post wh*ore" with being so high in the pecking order.
I guess it just goes to show that there are some people that you just can't SHUT UP!!
So, I guess I need to temper myself just a wee bit.

The first thing I look at is "Recent Posts" and if the post has had more than 3 or 4 answers and the subject line catches my interest I will read it. If I feel I have something to add in addition to the already posted answers I will respond. Otherwise I just go on to the next post.
If there are less than 3 answers, no matter the subject line, I will read and respond if I have an answer or pertinent comment.
So your post, by the time I got to it, had 3 answers already, but the subject line caught my attention and after I read your post, I had something to contribute.

I asked for help on another forum with regards to cleaning our coach. I received about 8 responses. I was grateful for the last 5 because the first 3 didn't work. Sometimes when you are looking for answers "2 cents" is worth a million bucks.

Amen that 2 cents is worth a million bucks.

Currently this post is at 208 views and 9 repliers. That would be almost 5 %. RVRON is right. 95/5.

I don't normally comment unless I have first hand knowledge about the subject. I try very hard to not pass on bad information. I will share my experiences, and expertise (if I have any), but otherwise I try to learn from others posts.
I read another very busy forum, and find that people continue to post after the original question has been answered, or, they will argue over a reply someone made in response to the OP. I find myself being very careful in my wording so as to not incur the flames. Doesn't always work of course...

I don't post much because I don't know much especially when it comes to electricity. Take my advice on electricity and you may end up blowing up your RV.

Hey RVRon you could be right, but in my opinion the 5% that reply generaly have positive and informative comments. The other 15% seem to get derailed on the topic or rant on & on.
