Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Is It Hot.....Or What?!?!?!

Here in Oklahoma City, as of July 26, we've had 32 days in excess of 100 degrees for the year.  The next 7 days are ALL forecasted for in excess of 100 degrees.  Our record is 50 days in a year over 100.

And, we still have August to get through....

Proof of the heat:

Whoa... the whole dang ice cream truck melted?  That's serious heat.  It's a pretty strange year when folks have to come visit us in Florida during the summer months so they can cool off!

Funny, that's just what Janet looked like last Tuesday at the WIT rally in Forest City, IA. during our 3rd install for the day. We had been doing 3-4 per day before this dangerous heat/humidity set in and Janet just does not have the word "quit" in her vocabulary. I had to go up and send her down as it was very clear that she was not doing well at all. I tried keeping her in the shade with a large golf umbrella but the extreme heat index was just too much. For the next few days we only did 2 installs a day at 7am and 9am. It was just too much to take after that unless we were doing work inside someone's air conditioned coach. Don't be confused and don't take it lightly, heat is a killer!

Right, Bill. Thankful that I don't work outside! We're up in Austin today and the truck actually registered 109 deg, at one point.
I guess from the heat of the cement. But whatever, it was really hot!! Take care. :) PK

disbeliefdisbelief  Not Good! I am here in Altoona Iowa, working in games at Adventureland. After 10 days I finally have a day off Thursday.

I had one day I was out in the direct sun and consumed about 2 gallons of water by my 4:00 end of the day.

Everyone, If you have to be outdoors wear light colored clothes, a hat, a wet towel, and plenty of water and some potassium and electrolytes, eg: propel water

Yep, that's pretty hot. Here in Texas we got smart dogs who know how the beat the 'dog days of summer'. The author of this photo is as illusive as most of the stuff you can find on the internet. Since I am from Texas, this is a Texas Bulldog.

@ Pieere and others - be sure to replace electrolytes if you drink that much water. My daughter got dehydrated even though she was drinking a lot of water because the electrolytes were imbalanced.
