Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are Jeff and Cindy Harvey signing on to the RV Dreams Forum. We have been lurking for about 6 months, enjoying all the posts and information on this site. We are currently awaiting delivery of our new Carriage Carri-Lite 36MAX1. It is due to arrive and be ready for us by next Wednesday. We have owned five trailers in the last several years but this is the one we intend to actually live in.
We plan, (within the next year), to sell the house and move into the trailer and live in it while I continue with my current job for a couple years (or shorter, if circumstances allow). During that time, (being debt free), we will save enough money to supplement a part-time income workcamping. We are both in our early fifties, but feel that we want to make the move to fulltiming as soon as possible. One never knows what the future holds and we do not want to get to the end with any regrets. We determined that we were not going to let our future be determined by fear of what might happen with the economy, or what could happen with healthcare, etc.. Rather, we decided that no matter what happens, it is bound to be better if we are fulltiming and part of the greatest community in these United States of America...that being RVers.
We are never so happy as when we are out in the trailer. We look forward to the fulltime life with great anticipation!

That's a nice unit that you are going to take delivery of. Sounds like you have a good plan and are moving forward. Good luck and we hope to meet the both of you sometime. --mike

Well, here it is, July 2011 and we have made the decision to sell the house. It has taken us awhile to get all the bugs and issues squared away with the trailer, and we have had to deal with some family issues, but... Fortunately, we have a lot of equity (dealing room) in the house so I think we will be able to sell it fairly quickly. Then, we plan to live in the trailer while I continue to work for 2 or 3 more years...then we break free. It is good to have finally decided to sell the house. Now the process of downsizing begins...I appreciate all the information I have been able to glean from this site and others. I will continue to read and post as we move along in our plans. I look forward to seeing y'all "down the road". As I said before, "Here we go..."
