Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
WH seems to work fine on propane but with electric it initially heats the water fine when it first comes on or when you've used it for awhile and it's had to reheat. But if the water sits in the heater like overnight then the first person to take a shower will have only warm water and will run out quickly. T...
Do people have any experience w/ the r-ranches? www.r-ranch.org , www.rwildhorseranch.com , etc. There are several in California. The model seems to be a large property (a few thousand acres) a limited # of owners (2-3,000.) A stable with horses to ride, a couple pools, etc. It's a little ha...

Warning: The following may be offensive due to language, innuendo, your own reactions/thoughts, bluegrass lovers/haters, rv owners, married folks, unmarried or used to be married folks, people who hate small, confined spaces (oops I already said rv owners), travel, interstate , big trucks,...
We're looking at buying our 5th wheel and it doesn't have the slide covers. They want to charge us $1600 for 3 slide covers with installation. Do I really even need slide covers?? The sales lady says that they're mainly for people who stay put for extended periods of time.
Another question for you class A owners. I just recently got everything setup for my toad, towbar, braking system, lighting etc to tow 4 down. I went out for a drive in my MH pulling the CRV. and if not for the rear camera I wouldn't know it was behind me. I feel like I'm driving a train all 60 feet of it! Now f...
I have agreed on a purchase price of C$60,000.00 for a 2001 Newmar Mountain Aire 4095 with 67000 miles on it, it has the Spartan chassis and 350 Cummins engine, the owner is the original owner, the rig has been well looked after, the only issues outside that needs to be addressed are the rear large Newmar...
Any advice on which brands to start looking at for full timing? We've decided on a motorhome with a toad that we'll be able to use for the art shows. Once we start full timing we do not plan to spend a lot of the winter months in cold regions. Looking through an RV buyer's guide we really liked to looks of Ti...
Hello everyone. Just found this site. Looking for information on possible tow vehicles. We are thinking about going to a class A or class C, currently have a wonderful 5th wheel. I would like to be more active in the driving, setup etc.
I've seen several RV's with a screw driver antenna mounted on the ladder that will tip over and lay flat on top of the RV. Anyone have plans or a mount they would sell? If you see one on an RV in your travels please ask them where they got it and let me know please, thanks.
Just want to ask everyone for Prayers as dear hubby (Bob) had a heart attack this past Sunday. Guess we won't be going to Wisconsin this summer to work for the COE at Black Hawk Park. Does anyone need a job? We were suppose to start on May 10th. If so PM me and I'll tell you who to contact. Doctors say we don...
We presently live in the country about 30 miles from where we do our grocery shopping, so we stock up a lot. We will be testing the RV waters this summer with a 3 week trip. I am so used to stocking up that I'm inclined to buy the food for the whole three weeks at once. For those of you who full-time, how do you de...
New to this RV lifestyle. My wife and I along with three small children. (all under age of 5) are looking for a Class C to take family vacations with. We are partial to the bunk bed option. We have been looking at Jayco Greyhawk and Nexus Phantom. Any and all input would be greatly appreciated. -- Edited by...
The benefits of having your RV weighed wheel-by-wheel have been discussed elsewhere on this Forum (i.e. Weighing RVs and Setting Tire Pressures) and on numerous other RV forums. Most visitors to RV-Dreams know that Linda & I have been trained by the RV Safety & Education Foundation and we w...

Silly question folks, but I'm going to show my computer illiteracy here. What does "DH" stand for? I'm pretty sure it has something to do with husband but not certain. I see abbreviations like this and I'm trying to follow a conversation but I hit a snag with these. I know LOL, BTW, and a f...
Would like to get some feedback on a possible 5er TV combo we are thinking about. We understand there are a bunch of variables but given the basics we are trying to figure out if we are on the right track. Looking at a Crossroads Patriot CF335SS with the following weights. Dry Weight 9741, GVWR 12...
I would love to hear from anyone who owns or has owned this model. DH is somewhat hesitant about cutting a hole in the MH side for a vent but if this model is not that good he may have to. Thanks
Hello All My husband Frank and I will be starting this new adventure early July. We are more than ready since we retired in 2009 then travelled for 6 months then bought another house (why oh why did we do that????) Looking forward to meeting some of you on the road. Frank and Di Roach
If you travel around the internet reading and joining forums you may recognize my user name - FastEagle - because I’m a joiner. I do use other names but that one is used most often. I don’t have a canned introduction. It evolves with time. Might be close, similar or look just like others. I assure you I do n...
We are Richard and Janet. Although I (Janet)and an active forum watcher this is the first I have heard of RV-Dreams and I'm glad to see another forum to help answer questions. We started FT in 1997 when we sold the house back in PA and bought an older 5th whl. At age 47/48 we were not retired and found our...
For the past year I have been seeing a lack of courtesy among some RVers that I have never seen before. I am now seeing more people cutting through occupied sites rather that walk around the proper way. I am also seeing more and more people not picking up after their pets when they do their business. Th...
My husband and I attended the Hershey Rally and loved it. However I can not find what I did with my papers from there. You had suggested a book/booklet about choosing a home base. Can you please tell me the name of the book again or where to purchase it. We are moving our full time status up by a year! We p...
So glad we found this web-site! I have been reading for a week or so. My husband and I are thinking about selling our house (we just bought it in 2008) and the contents (save for a few items), and becoming Full-timers. We have experienced a "pseudo" full-timer lifestyle experience...for f...
