Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Does anyone know of a Manufacturer that offers Class A diesel motorhomes with a kitchen island? we saw on in a gasser at a R show and liked it, but want diesel.
My daughter was getting something out from the under bed storage and didn't have a grip of it when she lifted, I think one of the the gas filled struts over-extended. At any rate, it won't compress again. I just unscrewed one end of it from the frame so I could get the lid down. Is there some trick that I can'...
We've tramped through so many fivers over the last year and we keep coming back to the Heartland Big Country 3690SL. So we had the weekend free and I found that a dealer about 3 hours south of us had one in stock. We made a trip of it and stayed at the beach overnight Friday, dropping by the dealer on Saturday...
This is actually for you and Linda -- do you ever go back and reread your blog postings from before you went full time? As things here are finally starting to move along (albeit at a snail's pace, but still moving forward), we suddenly had the thought of 2nd thoughts and doubts. So the way we handled it w...
Has anyone noticed anything different about the the functioning of RVDreams? I often use my IPad, the scrolling function while on RV Dreams has been choppy the last couple of days. Other websites are smooth. G

Given your and Linda’s desire to stay at as many “It Factor” locations as possible – if you were to start over (or purchase a new rig) would you purchase 39’ or would you consider going shorter or longer than 40’ (i.e., greater living space and you would still be able to stay at those great “It Factor” loc...

I know it's been discussed to death but to actually clean out a house that has been lived in by my family for 40 years is an experience that can not easily be described. My mother has agreed to move in with us, hopefully she can even manage to come on the road with us. As a result I am given the task of cleaning o...
Hello to everyone, I am a low fat, high carb raw vegan. My husband and I are discussing fulltime rving upon retirement in the next year or two. So incredibly excited to join the rest of you in such an awesome journey in life. My question here is that I want to continue eating this way, ( fresh fruits only) bu...
The DH and I are heading to Louisiana for the winter as we have a workamping gig there. This is our first big trip with our rig since going fulltime in May, anyone have any travel tips or any good overnight suggestions from Michigan to Louisiana?
I am pretty new to RVing and rely a lot on forums and reviews to find a place to land. I went to post my first review of a park where we stayed a couple months to find out that my post will not be published until I have written several reviews. Which will take quite a while since we do not move a lot for now. The rv...
I've dreamed of rving and have researched it for years. I love to read blogs of full time rvers and their experiences. Last year we bought our first motorhome. Then came my fear of riding in it. My hubby has been going out and getting experience driving it with a friend and my confidence is building....
I am in the process of figuring out both a budget for the full timing life we have planned and maintenance on the tow vehicle. To do this, I need to get some info from the folks pulling with diesel pickups. I currently use synthetic oil in both the car and half ton p/u and change it every six months. The...
I've been digging through the forum looking for an answer to this simple question and just couldn't come up with it. Can you have your residency in one state and use a mail forwarding company in a different state? We plan to maintain our Florida residency but wonder if we also need a mail forwarding comp...
Carol and I are just about finished with our committment at Windy Valley Llama Farm. If you are interested in working at a private farm, rather than a public RV park, this is a great place to work. Blue Ridge is a fun location close to Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Asheville. Mountain hiking, white water r...
What would a good time be to apply for workamp positions? Unfortunatly I do not yet own an rv but soon I hope I will. I will need to work to help support my son and I and as soon as I get an Rv I want to head out. What would be a good time frame to begin looking for openings coming up and what are some of the places to l...

We have a travel trailer with an Atwood furnace that has been trouble free until this trip. Camping on the western side of Yosemite at 6400 feet, the furnace didn't want to come on. We checked all the wires, cables, etc, hit the reset button and the furnace decided to work again. Problem solved, we...
wanting to full time RV with wife and 2 kids (4 and 6). It seems many people go the 5th wheel route vs. a class A. Is this the case for most people? if so why? i can see the "having a vehicle to drive" argument. but if I had a class A, i would just pull a jeep. what are some other reasons? I was thi...

Hello everyone! Nice to have stumble upon this site! I've never experienced living my life on the road so I just want to know how does it feels like. I love nature and hope to really travel soon to other places of the world.
I like a cold refrigerator and ours is 36 degrees at the coldest. Is that where it should be? Just wondering if I'm expecting to much. Our motorhome is an older one, 1994 Pace Arrow.
