Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

And this is our neighborhood

On a busy day we would see a vehicle once every hour or two. I also seen this giant tractor looking thing, the driver waved as he passed buy.
 
 On Saturday two people stopped buy to enjoy the trails near buy. It would seem we were camped in there parking lot. Actually they were happy to talk. As Carl put it, your the first strangers I have talked to this year. It was August!

 

Very friendly people. As it seems they are not used to see srtranger's around there.

 

Every two days we drove into town to refill water. The only place I found was the Flying J at the east side of town. Doge city is not RV friendly at all. What I mean there are no places to park.
 
  My van runs on gas. So with a 30 foot trailer I pulled into the gas pump, got my gas and filled the water tank and then backed out. There was no way to pull through. This being the only gas pumps in town I could fit into, we made due. 
 
Over all it was an awesome time, the dogs ran free but never seemed to want to go far. Except for Enoch, he likes to chase deer. He would see a deer way off in the distance and take to runnin. He'd come back later that day so tired he just fall down.
 
Next we head south to Dallas Fort Worth, to work the winter there.

Thanks, Jim.

We can now have a source of primitive camping near Dodge City.  For the benefit of the others, Ford County Lake is where Jim was at and it is just a few miles north of Dodge City, Kansas off of US Highyway 283.  (Check on Google maps to see how easy it is to get there.)

What is now the Flying J truckstop in Dodge used to be the Dodge City Truck Stop back in the past.  I basically lived in an 18-wheeler at that truck stop while hauling fertilizer from a nearby Co-op plant.  The folks of Kansas are mostly friendly, and most will not feel the need to impede upon someone that is camping in their area.

Good place and good folks there.
