Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Atwood furnace - issues at high elevations

We have a travel trailer with an  Atwood furnace that has been trouble free until this trip.  Camping on the western side of Yosemite at 6400 feet, the furnace didn't want to come on.  We checked all the wires, cables, etc, hit the reset button and the furnace decided to work again.  Problem solved, we thought.

Now we're in Mammoth Lakes, elevation 7500 feet, furnance worked fine the first 2 nights but wouldn't come on this morning.  Hit the reset button again, and now it seems to be working about 20% of the time and frequently cycles off quickly after lighting.  Outside temp at 7 AM was 43 this morning, we'll be here another 4 days and would really like consistent heat overnight and in the mornings.

Any suggestions?

I see your coach is a 2010....that being said I feel a parts failure is probably not an issue.......if this is your first run for the season or have been in a damp area .....clean all electrical connections at the board level and make sure the Venturi tube is clear of debri..(spiders and such)

you could also have debri on the sail switch on the blower cage......

do not ajust your burner air shudders....air mix at very high elevations require orafices to be changed.......hope this helps

Thanks Lucky Mike for responding, we'll try your ideas. We're definitely from a damp area (Seattle) so we'll see if this helps. If not we'll be asking the techs at the Oregon RV Dreams Rally if they have other suggestions!
