Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We recently retired and love the idea of a nice motorhome but have never owned one. Being able to freely travel and sleep in our own MH sounds great. On the other hand we dont really enjoy camping. We recently visited an RV park at the invitation of an RV dealer. When we got to the RV park it looked crowde...
I'm in the process of buying the above mentioned Class A, it has only 14,000 miles, but a few questions... 1) It has an Onan MicroQuiet 4000 generator; that looks like it runs on gas? How do these things work? I never had a generator. 2) How much propane capacity does a small Class A generally take? 3) Look...
We're doing it! We picked up our 5th wheel on Monday, exactly one year after we left the 2012 RV-Dreams Spring Rally in Kerrville, TX. Turning our dream into reality was possible in no small part because of all the excellent information available through RV-Dreams and its members. Thanks to all of you...
Does anyone know about the steps that come out automatically. Is it possible that they need enough power to work. After camping in a cg the steps worked for awhile. Its been a couple of weeks since powering up.Now they quit on me again. The dealership installed them when I bought the rig.Must be a warran...
Do RV parks give you a hard time for putting magnetic signs on your RV advertising your business or service? What about handing out flyers and business cards? I would imagine this type of thing is done quite regularly since many FTers are running businesses from their RV. Thanks Kyle
I wanted to ask those of you who use Workamper News on a regular basis, is the yearly subscription worth the fee? Or, can you find just as much opportunity for employment on other internet sites who don't charge? Thanks for any input!
My husband and I lost our home to foreclosure 2 years ago. Since then, we are in our 2nd rented home, on a yearly lease. It's up for sale but we knew that going in. We had no choice since we have 3 old dogs and could NOT find ANYONE willing to rent to us out here in SE PA...Chester County. My husband is a flooring...
We are currently in an area where all the world's bugs have decided to congregate and sneak into the rig. We recently bought some Black Flag Window Fly Traps and put them around the MH. Boy do they work well!! I am most impressed that they even catch knats. I can now trash the pack of hanging fly traps th...
We ordered our 5th wheel back in 2010. After we got it was when I originally had the thought that I should have "deleted" something from our "coach" that comes standard.Last night, we had a hailstorm visit Oklahoma City with stones as large as tennis balls. Guess who now gets t...
Do most of you find it ok with the sizes of them and making through say 2wks of supplies in them to get by before having to go shopping??? Or you you have a smaller fridge in the basemant to offset with??? Thank you for your response. Chris and Cheri.
Hi. I am about as new of a newby as you can get. I am planning to retire full time to class B in two years. While this is a ways away, I am already thinking about what I will and won't need. Anything I buy now, I want to make sure that it is something I will use in my new RV home. That brings me to the issue of storage....
Happy tears tonight as Dale arrived home after a 17 day trip to trade in our truck and pick up our 5th wheel, issues with the truck, then the trailer and finally the weather turned a 8-10 day trip into 17. Our new home on wheels is now parked in the hosue we're getting ready to put on the market!! I think thi...
I got our first issue of Workamper News in the mail today as part of the special they have for 2 sample issues and I saw an ad for oil field security gate guard. I cannot find a lot of information on these jobs other than the person is an employee and lives out of their RV at the site. Maybe not the best place to b...
Since we've sold our motorhome, we no longer need this tire pressure monitoring system: monitor + 10 sensors. Paid $440 new 2 years ago. Would like to give it to someone looking to protect their precious cargo. :) PM me. First come, first serve. P.S. Please don't PM me if you plan to resell it, only if you...
I just changed the whole house type water filter and found it turned green. The filter is bright white when first installed. I believe it is alge growing on the filter, but is that a problem? Seems to me that this is a good thing that it is not going into the 5er. We are in Florida since December and have...

As some of you know I've been working at Retama Village in Mission Texas since late January 2013. After a lot of changes I'm finally getting my feet on the ground and wanted to let you all know that if you are looking for a place to park the RV for a few months in the winter, we have some great opportunities....
Been looking at buying a Rv for a couple of months. I seem to like the interiors of the Pace Arrow line. What feedback can I get from someone that has owned a 2005 pace arrow gas rv.. Good/bad I'll take it all. The one I am looking at is a little pricey at 75000, but own it negotiable and it is in really goo...
We picked up our 5th wheel on Wednesday and had a wonderful experience at the RV Park adjacent to the dealer. Encountered only minor issues to be taken care of and had our maiden voyage on Friday. Our Keystone Cougar 333MKS is a joy to own. Husband had no problems in hitching, unhitching and learnin...
We are looking at buying a used class a diesel pusher. From what everyone is saying find a lay out you love but once you find the layout what things should you look out for.You know those things if fond run away from the unit as fast as you can because it will cause expensive problems down the road?Thanks...
This weekend I dewinterized and sanitized the fresh water tank on our fiver. While flushing the tank there were several black blobs which came out. I had blown the tank dry last fall so maybe it is just a film which formed in the bottom of the tank. We do have very hard water in our area but I usually run i...
I have a tri-axel 5er and have about 5,000 miles on the tires now. Thought just came to me, should I rotate the tire. Knowing that the front and rear tires scuff more than the center one dose. What is the general concenise out there?
I'm tossed up as to if one of these units are really needed. On one forum everyone swears by them, on another forum those that have full/parttimed for years say they've never used them and have never had to have any elect appliances etc replaced due to burn-out due to low voltage. Maybe I'm overly protec...
Hello all, My wife and I are seeking advice on RV living with a family. We are in a late 30's and have one daughter who is 8 years old and and older daughter who is 15 who will be staying with us during the summer months. I have a job that allows me to work from anywhere in the US but it is a demanding job which req...

I would like to say hello to everyone, my wife and I own a fifth wheel we travel mainly in the winter time to southern Texas. The Rio Grande Valley about every two years. We do go away for two weeks or a month somewhere. I'm looking forward to being part of this form. And that is about it
The time has come to start advertising our New Horizons. This unit is not quite a year old, but I will not build our next coach until this one sells. It is a great deal for someone looking for a large luxury 5er suitable for off-grid living. Before everyone starts the rumors that went around last time, I w...
We had a chance to stop into the RV Museum and Hall of Fame in Elkhart, IN on the way back east from SD. I highly recommend you stop in if you have a chance to see how far we have come and also how we still do the same things over the last 100 years! Here is a link to pictures we took: http://s962.photobucket.com...
