Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Fulltime RV life for families? Any families out there?

Hello all,

My wife and I are seeking advice on RV living with a family. We are in a late 30's and have one daughter who is 8 years old and and older daughter who is 15 who will be staying with us during the summer months. I have a job that allows me to work from anywhere in the US but it is a demanding job which requires me to be on the phone 4-6 hours a day.

My wife and I are adventurous people and have no ties to our location and have no home to sell. My concern is for my 8 year old daughter; is RV living appropriate for families? What are the challanges? Are there other resources out there in some of these rv parks for kids? I get concerned that she will loose her sense of community without other kids her age. We are planning on living in the south during the winter and the north during the summer, so we will only be relocating twice a year.

If there are other families out there or any other feedback on this topic I would live to hear your insight.

Thanks!

JR

Joel,

Welcome to the RV Dreams forums.  You will find a lot of folks here have the answers to a lot of any questions you may have to ask.

Check out another RV Dreams forum category entitled "Full-timin' With Young-Un's."

There are a number of threads in there that will give you some ideas.  There is even one related to "LARGE" families RV'ing, one where there are 12 to 14 people involved.  That one entitled, "Family of 14 Hits the Road" has two links in it in two different posts and the two links are related to two different families.
