Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
The last of the kids will be out of college, so we are working on choosing a rig and truck and slowly selling things off with hopes of heading out on the open road by end of 2014! We were leaning towards a 2008 or newer Keystone Cougar. Enough room for husband to still work full time, but hopefully, still f...

Greetings My wife and I have been full-timers for going on 2 years and have appreciated knowing we can go to this forum and ask questions and get good answers. Our question is regarding any recommendations for toilet replacement in our 2012 Montana Big Sky. We currently have a Thetford side-peddle fu...
While enjoying the beautiful fall weather in southern NM, the frig quit. It worked fine for several days and then after one of the NM famous wind storms it stopped working. Fuses, power, gas, thermocouple, all checked and nothing seems wrong, so we are grounded. No ammonia odor either. Took it to t...

Well, last week, I meditated and asked for a dream about how much State Farm would give me for the totaled truck, and when I would get the money. My dream said, $15,000 and on Tuesday. Well, this last Tuesday came and went, and an estimate didn't show up until Thursday on the State Farm website, and it was l...
We couldn't get the cable to work last night and I think its because we have the wrong cable. Anybody know quickly what type of cable you need to have to plug into the cable tv thingie at the site? And is it something they sell at walmart?
Hi everyone, this looks like a great group and a good place to learn more about the rv lifestyle in general. My soon to be wife (63, retires next march) and myself (64, retired military) plan to spend a major part of our time traveling and seeing the usa. I'm an artist and have done art fairs, festivals ful...
So, we have basically been living in the RV in the driveway of the rental house while we are moving and selling and all that noise. I finally have a complaint besides banging my head getting in bed every night. The sink was NOT made for a tall person. Not. I am 6'1 and have to bend in half to wash the dishes!...
I'm starting to plan a route from Gillette Wy to Hill City SD my route planner says to take HwY 16, My question is how is RT 16for curves hills tunnels pulling a 35' travel trailer behind a 1 ton truck?

We will be in Half Moon Bay CA for an art show in October, were thinking it would be fun to take Hwy 1 south and explore more of the California coast and more importantly avoid having to go back through the Bay area since we'll have already spent a month fighting those highways. I'd be interested in feedba...
Jo ordered one of the Kindle Fire HD units and we got it today. Plugged it in at noon and as of 7:00 pm, she is having problems. It works fine as long as it is plugged into power. When she unplugs it and it then happens to go to sleep, it won't come on again unless she plugs the thing back into the power again....
A friend recently bought a used View - she would like to replace the front seats (driver and passenger) with new leather seats. I suggested she start with Winnebago to see what was even possible (she is unsure if the passenger seat can be a recliner) Does anyone have an experience with the View and if an...
Greetings to all. I have been "lurking" on this site for months, but just went legit. My family of 3 (beautiful wife, an 11-yr. old daughter plus a medium-sized Aussie named Romeo - ok family of 4) are about to BUY our first RV! We rented about 1 year ago and just fell in love with the experience...

You get full QoS control, free cloud management, p...
What a journey, first the truck order was fouled up, then fouled up again, finally took possession of a used truck instead of the new one we ordered, 3 weeks later than expected in a neighboring state. So, that added 3 days to the trip to OK to retrieve the 5th wheel. Then a 2 day delay to an issue with the...
Jo and I have a tendency to go walk the roads in the RV park next to our location in the mobile home park. On a recent walk, we came across an RV'er who really seems to be wanting to take a lot of their stuff with them. This trailer is a dual deck unit with the upper deck being capable of being lowered straight...
Anyone have experience with replacing radiator hoses on a 2006 Damon Challenger on F53 chassis? Specifically, how do you gain access to them? Does the doghouse have to come off? If so, what is removal procedure. Any help would be appreciated.
We are looking for a place to spend winter 2013/2014 in the south west. I've heard Desert Trails is a funky but nice place. Does anyone have any personal experience with the place? I dont know much about the area and hate to just jump in blind, but understand that reservations need to be done early. If no...
Hi Dreamers!Well, we have advertised our RV in almost every market we can think of: craigs list in multiple city listings, national RV sales sites, local classifieds, other RV forums like on Workkampers. It gets expensive! Anyone have any other suggestions? How long does it usually take? I'm going...
We recently purchased our first RV and have made our maiden voyage. We love it. That being said I would like to do some things to personalize it. Has anyone painted the walls of their RV or removed the ugly plain border? How successful were you and what type of paint or ? did you use. We are also con...
Help us decide , as some of you know we are currently Lakeside on a beautiful seasonal site in Griswold CT. During this summer we would like to take a week or so and check out a new Place. Two places have always interested us and both are about 8 hrs from our site. Our first choice is MOOSEHEAD LAKE, ME, ther...
Started last night - when we turned on the hot water tap, there is a slight noise coming from the water heater. Hot water heater is turned off but the noise sounds like it is coming through the pipes - humming - like something is caught in the pipe. We drained the hot water tank, cleaned it with vinegar an...
OMG. I finally did it, after years of planning. Called the boss, and said, I quit. Almost 20 years working in social services, and still making less than $2,000 take home a month (like everyone else in the field) Budget cuts, austerity, fiscal cliffs, and the ever popular "there are more impor...
