Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi, Searched for posts comparing fiver to tt, but only ones I could find were kinda old. I'm sure most ot the issues with towing and hitching are the same, but would like to hear from members that have owned both and why they prefer one over the other. We are leaning towards a used fiver. They seem to ha...
We are new to this forum and it looks like a great place to spend some time. We've been traveling full-time since 2007, full-timing in our fifth wheel trailer for the first 3 years and alternating between our trailer and a sailboat in Mexico for the next 3 years. We love boondocking and we live on solar...
We have a Porta Boat with the sail attachment option. Bought it a little over 2 years ago, used it our first summer a few times when we were on vacation and it's stayed on the back patio since then. We had it mounted on the roof of our TT, now we've upgraded to a 5v'er. However, even with the TT we found the t...
Howard, I read your latest blog post and have a question about weighing RV's and their tow vehicles. Basically, what do you do when a customized truck wants to be weighed. Our Dodge which has been heavily modified beyond factory standards is quite capable of towing our CarriLite, but there are no f...
I needed to send some hearts to the Mom's on here as tomorrow is their Day!!! Thought about this earlier as my Mom passed on just after my 16th Birthday. A victim at the age of 61 to Alzheimers'. I have to remember the good times I had from the early ages up to my 12th Birthday; won't go into the rest. If your Mo...
My Thor Hurricane 30Q gave me a great ride on our 1st outing begining last week, except for two incidents that scared the crap out of me.I must have hit a couple of small potholes at the same time. The rv shook so bad I thought it was all over.I never felt so out of control.Afterwards it was a smooth ride aga...
Went to the Appt. with the Primary Dr. today and what a day it was. Spent about 1 hour with the nurse practicioner. Answered many questions; then another hour with the Dr. Recieved blood work; chest X-ray and EKG whiche shows I have ischemia which is inadequate oxygenated blood circulation; that is wh...
I just bought a 26' 2004 Fleetwood Fiesta which came with a nice, new looking cover; since I am fulltiming, I don't need that. So come and get it. I am in the Santa Rosa California area. The cover is a sort of beige/gold fabric which almost looks like suede. -- Edited by Hina on Monday 13th of May 2013 07:19:...
We are still dreaming and searching for our new home and have narrowed it down to a DP. Most DP's in our price range have the CRT type TVs. Since we own three LCD tvs, I figure to swap a couple in during our pre-flight preparations. One outside and one in the bedroom can be easily mounted using articulat...
Haven't noticed a tread for this topic... On our Montana on the p/s the decals near the 5th wheel section are peeling. When we bought it we had them take the decal off the front section it was peeled so bad and they buffed it out. Really looks better without it. On the side though they trimmed the edges ba...

We'll stay at our seasonal campsite for the summer, as we adjust to living in the HOW (House on Wheels). ((NOTE: If you can tell me the movie I got that from, you win braggin rights in Pauly's Famou...
Looking at a 2000 36' Tradewinds by National RV DP. I know they are out of business. Does anybody have a response in general about this unit? It has a 300hp C6 Catipillar, ALLISON 5 SP transmission, freightliner chassis. It also has a slide out kitchen. (not refrigerator) We are going fulltime and seve...
We've tried every switch inside and even pulled the fuse for the one labeled "scare lights". Only one stuck on, can't figure it out and don't want to annoy our neighbors Anymore than we normally do. sherry

We are to the world of RV's and just purchased a 4 year old Jayco Legacy. I love everything about the rig, except the ugly border on all the walls....... Can it easily be removed without destroying the walls which are in excellent shape. The walls themselves are a neutral color and the border is all fancy...
I am just a young single girl, with my two cats penny and Sheldon. My identical twin took off to the army, so now I am living alone in a little apartment. I have honestly been thinking maybe it would be a good idea to buy a little 5th wheel for myself and set up at the rv park close to my coworkers (.5 miles away f...

I thought the hard part was behind us but this last two days before we hit the road full-time Are the hardest. We mostly packed the Fiver and its parked on the street in fron of our house. We've already had an email from the HOA about RV's being parked for longer than the allowed 24 hours, but like we care at t...
We're getting close to placing our order for our first 5th wheel. We've had a class c motorhome with a gas generator and it seemed to be economical to run but we only did a couple of weeks at a time and usually hooked to land power. Our new plan is to be full timers (and some boondocking)LP and we have heard a...

Oh, wait........let me explain.I had my first cataract surgery today. We've started with my right eye as it is the dominant one. Because of my anxiety, I was not looking forward to being awake and aware while the surgery was performed. But, they gave me something that really calmed me down, and I ju...
Looking for camping discount programs and I've seen both Passport America (frequently mentioned on this site) and just recently stumbled across Enjoy America. Both seem to offer 50% off camping with a $40/yr membership. Passport America is one we've already decided to join, trying to decide if E...
We have two larger dogs, both 60# and 8+ years old, one is mixed breed and the other a yellow lab and both well-mannered and obedient. I am wondering how limiting this would be in finding paying workamper positions. We are in our late 50's and really don't want to wait until retirement. We could, of co...
