Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Since going F/T six months ago,our only real "missed" convenience from our house has been a proper oven. We have had RV's most of the 43 yrs of our marriage, and knew that RV ovens are problematic, but thought we'd find way to adjust.Even with all the good advice in this forum about how to imp...
We are going to be living in our 43 ft 5th when full-time in a week. We have had a trial run in it, and have many modifications to make for our lifestyle, but what else. I feel like there is a lot of preparations to make, but don't know if there are necessary changes. Most everything worked well on our tria...
I ran across this on You Tube, and I thought I'd share; apparently, Ernest Borgnine was an RV'er, with a 40 foot class A, and there was going to be a documentary about his adventures on the road. The show never got picked up by a network, so the film makers put it up as a sort of tribute channel on You Tube. htt...
If anyone is interested or you know of anyone, you can check her out on my Web/Blod at www.ConservativeRV.com or http://binghamton.craigslist.org/rvs/3743103505.htmlThis is another step in our going full-timing. We want to get a 5th Wheel. Thanks Dreamers!
We may be relocating from north Georgia to an area just south of Shreveport, La. The area of new workplace is not somewhere we want to live. Definitely not. Nope. Crime rate is 386% above the national average. But there are places within about 30 miles, one is near Toledo Bend Lake, and a couple are...

We learned something on our recent trip to South Dakota to set up domicile (through Alternative Resources). This has to do with the hotel (or RV park) receipt needed to apply for residency. The receipt needs to show the names of everyone applying for domicile as well as their SD "home" addr...
I have an eZip electric bike which weighs about 50 pounds without the battery. I tried using a bike rack on the back of my CR-V but cannot lift the bike onto it (it's high). I will be driving a DP and towing a CR-V. Does anyone know how I can take my heavy bike with me? Thank you. Liz
http://excel30rke.blogspot.com/ has the details. I know the owners lightly, but do know they took care of thier stuff. The Excel is set up for boondocking with solar and a 2000 watt pure sinewave inverter/charger. "We are asking $43,500 for the fifth wheel and $25,000 for the truck. Bou...
Belinda an I haven't been on here in a few weeks but here's why... We were getting everything ready for the next big step towards our becoming full-timers - divesting ourselves of all our "stuff!"Last weekend we took that next big step - We had an “estate sale” which, in our circumstance it...
I'm eager to leave California behind, and hit the road... don't get me wrong, California has a lot going for it, but I'm burnt on taxes, prices, restrictions and regulations. I've heard South Dakota is a full time RV haven. Is anyone using S.D. mail services, have a S.D. driver's licence, spend time th...
Dale ended up spending a couple of extra days at Rolling Retreats in OK due to the 7 pin connnector in our new truck being faulty. So, now the snowstorm has hit, today part of I-80 was closed and it seems Winter Storm Yogi made Cheyenne WY the bull's eye for the snowfall. What is is with these back to back A...
Had such a rough week. Had an ice storm move through our town a week ago and it destroyed so many trees and knocked down power lines. Because I work for the parks department we had to work a lot of overtime hauling and cleaning up hundreds if thousands of tree branches. It has been an exhausting week and it i...
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed an increase in commercials showing RVs? I wonder if its just like when you buy a new car then notice all the same brand on the road but I kind of wonder if its become more mainstream? sherry
Well, we have an offer on our house. The person wants to purchase fully furnished which makes our job easier. Don't have to try and sell a house full stuff... My DH retires May 31st. If everything falls into place, our target date to head out as fulltimers is June 1st. Life is Good and about to get a whole lo...
Just wondering if anyone uses or has used space storage bags? Edit by moderator: Deleted excessive line breaks. Terry-- Edited by Terry and Jo on Friday 19th of April 2013 07:01:04 AM
Our generator will not start. It sounds like it wants to with the rrrrrr rrrrrrr sound but won't kick over. We've been charging our batteries. In fact, we have the cable plugged into our outside electrical box charging the RV batteries. Our RV is right outside our kitchen door in our driveway. We have t...
DW and I have been planning on fulltiming once she retires in 3 years. We've been really studing and evaluating different 5th wheels for full time use. Then during the winter MH's became a possibility after seeing a floor plan the DW loved and could live with. Well we signed the papers on a 2012 Winneba...
Obviously, you have to have a registered business which is most likely done in your state of domicile. But what do you do if you're an itinerant vendor working out of many states? do you need to register your business in every state? Thanks,

Many years ago while travelling back to Indiana we discovered the Bisquit & Gravy served by Hardees for breakfast. They reminded me of the bisquits and gravy made by my Aunt Snow from West Virginia. She would come out each year to celebrate Thanksgiving with us and at least one breakfast during...
We have Jack Russell. We always have her walking on with her lead or attatched to the picnic table with her lead. We are always out there with her. However we are also busy on the grill and or playing with our daughter. I know most parks have policy that dogs must be secured by a lead. I do believe the park we a...
Talked to my local agent today about full coverage on a new MH. The price was good BUT, it had no provision for "Full Replacement Cost" for a new MH if the current MH was declared a total loss. With the value of a new MH dropping 4 times faster then the loan payoff the first 3-4 years what additio...
Please pardon me for posting this in "Community Chat" instead of one of the RV Blog categories. However, the message here really needs to have a wider audience than just those that check out those blog categories.I haven't written for my blog in quite some time, but when I saw this, I had to...

I have the original Aqua Magic Galaxy Starlite. I need to replace two parts, totalling around $65. I'd rather replace the toilet for double that, so I'm looking at this Aqua Magic V. What do I look as far as bolt patterns to make sure this one will work?
Hi Everyone! My husband and I have had a dream for a few years - when we retire to travel around the country in an RV. My parents did this. Well, last week he lost his job - 4 years too early, but what the heck. So, we'll start a bit early. Our plan is to use the summers to travel and get the hang of retirement...
